The journey into deep forward bends like Kurmasana, or Tortoise Pose, is a gradual process of release. In this photo, I am helping a client find length in their spine and open their hips using gentle, steady support. This partner-assisted stretching technique helps release tension in the lower back and hamstrings.
To enhance flexibility and achieve challenging poses, I sometimes incorporate tools like a yoga strap. Here, the strap provides the necessary leverage to help my client deepen their forward bend safely, bringing them closer to the full expression of the pose. This demonstrates how we can work together to overcome physical limitations.
