About Indo-Western & Contemporary Styles
Many clients come to me wanting something festive that is not a heavy, restrictive lehenga. I personally sketch every set, ensuring the block-print patterns align with your frame. Whether it is a belted palazzo or a layered jacket dress, we focus on fabrics that move with you rather than just looking good on a hanger.
The beauty of Indo-Western wear lies in its versatility. You can wear these pieces to a sangeet, a festive dinner, or a daytime wedding function without feeling weighed down. In my studio, we prioritize the balance between modern cuts and traditional textile techniques.
When we use block printing, we do not just stamp fabric. We look at where the motifs fall on the garment to highlight your silhouette. What you get is a set that fits your body proportions, not a standard size from a rack.
We start with a consultation where we discuss your preferences, colors, and the event type. Fabric choice is critical for these styles. We work with georgette, crepe, and chanderi because they offer the fluidity required for contemporary shapes like ruffled skirts or cape tops. If you are looking for something specific, like a crop top set with embroidery or a printed gown, we can adapt these designs to suit your style.
We also handle requests such as matching sets for kids or coordinated family looks. If you have an event coming up, we can ensure everyone looks connected while maintaining their individual style.
Yukba Fashion
I am Balaji. I started Yukba because I wanted Indian handmade details like aari and block printing to fit into daily life, not just for weddings. When you work with me, we start with a conversation about what makes you feel comfortable, then we build the outfit from there.
