From perfect pole turns to game-winning dives, we break down the core techniques of Kho-Kho. Train with the YSSA family on our authentic clay court in Vidyaranyapura and learn what it takes to chase with intent.

Mastering the pole is essential for any serious Kho-Kho player. Here, a player practices his pole turn, a key technique for quick direction changes while chasing.

Our female players are just as fierce. This action shot shows Rakshitha executing a perfect pole touch to maintain her momentum during a chase.

The perfect dive. This is the result of hours of practice, a player stretching his entire body to tag a defender just in time on our authentic dirt court.

Another angle of a dive, showing the technique of getting low to the ground to make a successful tag while maintaining speed.

The "kho" is more than just a word, it's a transfer of responsibility. Here, a player gives a kho, showing the precise moment of contact needed for a seamless chase.

A classic one-on-one situation between a chaser and a defender. We train our players to be smart and agile in both attacking and defensive roles.

About this collection

Kho-Kho isn't just about speed; it's about friction management on the field. On our natural clay court at NTI Ground, we prioritize learning how to execute a pole dive without losing momentum. You will learn to stay low to the ground, anticipate the chaser's angle, and perfect your 'kho' transfer, ensuring you are playing smart, not just fast.

The Science of the Chase

At YSSA, we treat Kho-Kho as a high-performance sport. Whether you are a beginner or looking to join our competitive squad, our training focuses on three pillars: agility, technique, and stamina.

  • Pole Work & Diving: The pole is your best friend or your biggest obstacle. We drill repeatedly on pole-turning techniques and ground-hugging dives to ensure you save seconds where it matters most.
  • Defensive IQ: Surviving a long chase requires ring game strategy and reading the chaser's rhythm. We train you to keep your cool when the pressure is on, teaching you how to move in a chain without getting trapped.
  • Conditioning: You will run on our sand track. It’s not easy, but it builds the explosive calf and core strength required for sudden bursts of speed and long-distance endurance.

Why Train With YSSA?

We aren't a fitness center; we are a training academy with a competitive edge. Our players compete in taluk-level tournaments and represent us against strong teams from Belagavi and Maharashtra. We track attendance and progress strictly because discipline is the only path to the Sub-Junior Nationals.

Our motto is simple: Idanna belesikondu hogbeku (We have to grow this). When you train with us, you aren't just learning to play; you are becoming part of a community that celebrates every win and pushes through every loss together. Banni aadri (Come, play)—bring your energy and we will help you build your game.
