Matches are often decided by a single catch or a quick run-out. We focus on reaction time, body control, and anticipation so you can turn half-chances into wickets on the field.

This video showcases our intense fielding drills. We focus on agility, technique, and quick recovery to ensure our players are sharp and effective in the field.

An instructional video on the key elements of catching drills: eye-hand coordination, quick recovery, and a balanced leg stance.

Anticipation is key for a great fielder. We train our players to always expect the ball and be ready to move, turning them from fielders into match-winners.

A fielder positions himself perfectly for a high catch near the boundary. This requires timing, judgment, and confidence, all of which we build through practice.

The moment of a clean catch. Soft hands and watching the ball all the way are crucial techniques we emphasize in our catching drills.

About this collection

It isn't enough to just be fit; you need to know how to move. In our fielding sessions, we focus on 'soft hands' for catching and explosive footwork for cutting off boundaries. We use video analysis to fix your stance early so you do not develop bad habits that cost you runs in a real match.

Fielding and wicketkeeping are the most underrated skills in the game. While batting and bowling get the spotlight, a sharp fielder saves runs and creates breakthroughs when the bowler is under pressure. At Just Cricket Academy, we treat these disciplines with the same level of technical rigour as batting or pace bowling.

Why Technique Matters

Whether it is a slip catch or a high ball near the boundary, it comes down to a few core principles: eye-hand coordination, balance, and the 'ready' position. We break these down into manageable drills. You will learn how to present a large hand area to receive the ball, how to dive safely to minimize injury, and most importantly, how to anticipate the ball before it is even hit.

Facilities for Realistic Practice

Training on synthetic mats is not the same as training on grass. Because we operate out of a BCCI-approved facility in Rajanukunte, our fielding drills are done on genuine Bermuda grass turf wickets. This provides an authentic bounce and speed, which is crucial for wicketkeepers who need to adjust to varied trajectories. We also incorporate multi-ball drills and game-like scenarios to ensure you are not just practicing movements, but making decisions under pressure.

Who This Is For

Whether you are a young player looking to cement your spot in the school team or an aspiring professional aiming for the next level, our modules are tailored to your needs. We emphasize the 'grind'—the repetitive, focused work required to make these skills second nature. By the time you step onto the pitch for a real match, your body should react before your mind even processes the ball.
