About Story & Drama Club: Myths and Legends
When your child joins our mythology-based club, they do not just sit and listen to stories. We turn tales from the Ramayana and Mahabharata into active, stage-ready productions where every child has a role, from dialogue to non-dialogue parts, helping them build stage confidence and teamwork skills through hands-on practice.
Bringing Legends to the Stage
We believe that Indian myths offer more than just stories. They provide a foundation for values like righteousness, focus, and resilience. In our club, we strip away the distractions and replace them with puppets, scripts, and stage craft. Children learn how to project their voices, understand character motivations, and work together in a small, supportive group.
How It Works
- Role Allocation: We cast children based on their age and comfort levels. Whether they are comfortable with complex dialogues or prefer non-dialogue movement roles, every child gets their moment in the spotlight.
- The Curriculum: Our sessions move beyond reading. We start with storytelling circles, move to script reading, and end with full-scale rehearsals for shows like our Ram-Leela musical.
- The Setting: We operate out of our Vikhroli East studio, providing a safe, analog environment where the focus remains entirely on the creative process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my child need prior acting experience? No experience is needed. We adapt the scripts for children, so beginners find it easy to start, while those with more interest can take on more challenging roles.
What is the batch size? To ensure every child gets individual attention and enough rehearsal time, we cap our cohorts at approximately 10 to 12 children.
Do parents get to see the final show? Yes. Our festival performance workshops specifically lead up to a final live showcase for family members, complete with basic stage setup and sound.
Wondershop
We are Wondershop, and we started this space because we wanted a place where kids could laugh, get their hands dirty, and truly connect with their roots. We love seeing children transform from shy toddlers into confident performers as they act out their favourite tales from the Ramayana and Mahabharata.
