About Beginner Acting Workshops (Big Step & Spotlight)
You won’t find fancy equipment or scripted lectures here. At our Jayanagar studio, it’s just red oxide floors, shared scripts, and direct, honest feedback. Whether this is your first time stepping on a stage or you are looking to rediscover a hobby, we focus on 'acting as reacting'—teaching you to drop the masks and perform with genuine intent rather than just memorizing lines.
Theatre is a craft, not a theory. Our beginner workshops, 'Big Step 4+1' and 'Spotlight 5+1', are built to get you out of your head and into your body. We don't believe in long, drawn-out programs that lack focus. Instead, we offer intensive sessions where you learn the essentials: voice modulation, stage geography, and most importantly, how to build a connection with your scene partner.
The WeMove Approach
We believe in the power of the ekanka (one-act play). You will learn how to read a script not for dialogue, but for subtext. You will practice 'stagecraft'—understanding where to stand, how to move, and how to hold an audience's attention without saying a word.
Our 'Big Step 4+1' is designed to shake off the nerves of beginners through two weekends of pure practice. If you are looking for a deeper dive, 'Spotlight 5+1' pushes you into characterization and method acting.
