A beach wedding requires more than just a pretty view; it needs a structure that withstands the ocean breeze while looking effortless. I use custom bamboo teepees and weighted bases for floral arches so your mandap stays grounded and perfectly styled even when the sea wind picks up.
Working on a beach wedding is about balancing the wild beauty of the coast with the polished aesthetics of a celebration. My approach is to let the ocean be the primary decor, using light, airy structures like bamboo teepees and gauzy fabrics that move with the breeze.
I do not believe in heavy, artificial backdrops that block the horizon. Instead, I focus on:
- Structural Stability: I use discreet, heavy-duty anchors for mandaps and arches so they remain rock-solid against the shore's gusty winds.
- Lighting Design: Since the sun sets early, I design illumination as an extension of the twilight. Think warm Edison bulbs, fairy light canopies woven through palm trees, and cane lamps that cast soft, intricate shadows on the sand.
- Floral Integrity: I avoid delicate imported blooms that wilt in the humidity. I opt for hardy, lush tropicals like bougainvillea, palm fronds, and jasmine that stay vibrant throughout the ceremony.
