Behind the Scenes: Handmade Art & Studio Life
Welcome to my creative space, kootukare (friends). This is a look into our daily world at Artkada, where we focus on original, handcrafted pieces—no prints or wallpapers here—just honest art that I hope brings a little blessing to your home.
Artkada is always making something different. From large temple art to our home decor and gift shop, we are a team dedicated to bringing beauty and creativity into the world.

About Artkada & More
When you visit our studio in Cheruvathur, you are not just looking at finished products; you are seeing the process. Whether it is a mural being sketched or a 3D relief getting its final varnish, I believe in showing you the effort behind the art because true handmade pieces take time to find their soul. We do not believe in mass-produced wallpaper—if you see it in our gallery, it was crafted by hand.
Art is a journey, not just a product. At Artkada, my team—Chandrettan, Mehroof, and Rajesh—and I focus on techniques that require patience, like the traditional dot shading used in Kerala mural paintings or the time-intensive relief work that gives 3D art its depth.
We specialize in:
- Traditional Kerala Murals: These are not just paintings; they are stories from our culture, from the Geethopadesham to the grace of Theyyam, executed on canvas or directly on your walls.
- 3D Embossed Relief: We work with fiberglass and cement to create birds, peacocks, and divine figures that physically project from your wall, catching light and creating shadows.
- Pooja Room Decor: We transform mundane wooden doors and pooja room entrances into sacred gateways, using gold foil highlights and miniature detailing.
Every piece we create is custom. If you have an idea, we can sketch it out and adapt it to the specific dimensions of your home. We have worked on everything from small custom canvases for living rooms to massive murals for convention centers, and we travel across India to execute these projects. I invite you to see our work in person at the studio. Seeing the texture of the relief or the brushwork on a mural in natural light is a different experience entirely.
