Traditional Kerala Mural Paintings
I bring our culture to life through traditional Chuvarchithrakala. From mythological scenes like Geethopadesham to Radhakrishna, I paint stories on canvas and walls using the classic Panchavarna palette and careful dot shading.
A beautiful Radhakrishna mural finding its place in a home, complemented by a traditional brass lamp. It is moments like these, seeing my art become a part of your life, that I cherish the most.
Here is a large Radhakrishna mural I completed for a happy client in Coimbatore. Seeing my art bring so much joy to a family is the greatest satisfaction for me as an artist.
This painting of Radhakrishna and the gopis is filled with devotion and joy. I focused on the intricate details of their clothing and the serene expressions, bringing the divine leela to life on canvas.
The final touches on this Radhakrishna mural. Every dot and line is added with care and prayer. It is a blessing to be able to create art that connects us to the divine.
A work in progress, this Shivakudumbam mural shows the divine family of Lord Shiva, Parvathi, Ganesha, and Murugan. This traditional Kerala temple art is perfect for bringing a sacred feeling to your living room.
Art is a blessing that connects generations. Here, a young girl adds a final touch to a Shivakudumbam painting. These are the small, precious moments that make my work meaningful.
This Geethopadesham mural, depicting Lord Krishna and Arjuna on the battlefield, is a powerful piece for any home. It is a reminder of divine guidance and dharma, captured in the traditional temple art style of Kerala.
A Geethopadesham mural, placed high in a double-height living room, becomes a commanding and spiritual centerpiece. The scale and placement of the art can completely transform a space.
A closer look at the details of my Geethopadesham mural. The Sanskrit sloka is carefully painted, and the expressions of Krishna and Arjuna are rendered to convey the depth of the moment.
Unveiling a completed Geethopadesham painting. This traditional mural, depicting Parthasarathi, is done on canvas, making it easy to transport and install in your home, wherever you are.
About Kerala Mural Paintings: Stories on Canvas
The real beauty of a mural lies in the dot shading. I use the traditional Panchavarna palette (yellow, red, green, black, and white) and finish each piece with a double coat of clear synthetic varnish. This does not just give the painting a deep, glossy look, it also protects your art from dust and weathering, ensuring it lasts for generations.
When you choose a mural, you are bringing more than just decor into your home. You are inviting a story. Many clients ask if they should go for canvas or a wall painting. Canvas is perfect if you want the flexibility to move your art, especially with large pieces like my 200x120cm Anandashayanam works. Wall murals, however, transform the architecture of a room entirely, perfect for pooja rooms or living room feature walls.
My team and I handle the entire process. We start with the base preparation, then move to the detailed sketching of faces, and finally, the patient work of color filling. We use industrial-grade acrylics that hold up well in our climate. Whether it is the playful Unnikannan or the intense Geethopadesham, my goal is to keep the Kerala mural tradition alive in a way that fits modern homes. If you are worried about your space, remember that we can customize the size and theme to match your walls perfectly.
