Transition from practitioner to mentor. This intensive program focuses on the technical mastery of ancient archery and the profound responsibility of an Acharya.

A collage showing the core of my teaching method. I demonstrate the correct posture and draw, followed by classroom sessions on philosophy and group practice to ensure a holistic understanding of Dhanurvidya.

Perfecting the form is the foundation of all advanced archery. This video shows the precise sequence of movement, from nocking the arrow to the full draw and release, which every student must master.

Dhanurvidya integrates the body in unexpected ways. This is a demonstration of 'Aakarna Dhanurasana' archery, where flexibility and strength combine to allow for accurate shooting from unconventional positions.

This is a demonstration of 'Shabda Bhedi', or sound-based targeting. Here, the challenge is to shoot through a small, moving bangle, a test of instinct and precision beyond simple sight.

A classic test of an archer's precision. Splitting a lemon requires immense focus and control over the arrow's trajectory, a skill we cultivate in our advanced training sessions.

This demonstration shows how an arrow can be used for more than just piercing a target. By controlling the force and angle, the arrow's wind is used to extinguish a candle flame without touching the wick.

A demonstration of precision where the goal is not to destroy, but to interact delicately. The arrow is shot to cleanly remove a flower from its stem, a testament to an archer's control.

Hitting a moving target, or 'Chala Lakshya', is a critical warrior skill. Here I demonstrate hitting a swinging water balloon, training the eye and mind to anticipate and act with perfect timing.

A skilled archer becomes one with the target. This posture, rooted firmly on the earth, demonstrates the stability and focus required to achieve true aim in traditional field archery.

Like the lotus rising from the mud, a warrior finds mastery amidst challenges. This pose near the water lilies symbolizes the beauty and strength that emerges from disciplined practice of Dhanurvidya.

About The Path of the Acharya: Advanced Techniques & Mastery

The 11-day intensive requires total dedication to the Gurukul lifestyle, far removed from modern distractions. You will master advanced stances and precise techniques like Shabda Bhedi, but the real work lies in absorbing the Vedic ethics needed to lead students as a certified Acharya.

Beyond the Bow

Becoming an Acharya in Dhanurveda is not about hitting the target; it is about becoming one with the target. Our 11-day residential Acharya Shiksha Varga is designed for those who wish to preserve and teach this sacred science. We do not just teach you how to shoot; we teach you how to guide.

The Curriculum

  • Advanced Practical Mastery: You will move beyond foundational postures to execute complex techniques. This includes Aakarna Dhanurasana (bow stretching with flexibility) and Shabda Bhedi (sound-based targeting).
  • Pedagogical Training: Part of being an Acharya is structure. We teach you how to organize classes, correct student form, and manage the safety of a training ground.
  • Warrior Philosophy: We read from the Ramayana and Mahabharat, discussing what it means to live as a Veer. This is not just physical exercise; it is mental conditioning to instill discipline, focus, and righteousness.

Living the Tradition

This is a fully residential experience held in locations like Tirupati, Hyderabad, and Vizianagaram. You will live in a dormitory, consume Satvik meals, and participate in daily meditation and yoga. We believe that true learning happens when the student removes themselves from their comfort zone. You will be using academy bows during training, and for those who choose the Advanced Fellowship, we provide a professional bow set and business mentorship to help you establish your own independent center upon graduation.
