About Bachata: The Soul of the Dance
Many people think Bachata is all about fancy turn patterns, but in my classes, we start by actually hearing the instruments. I teach you to follow the bass and the percussion first, not just the count, because when you truly listen to the music, your body finds the movement naturally. If you have been struggling to look like a dancer, this is the shift you need.
Bachata is not about memorizing complex choreography or performing for cameras. At Motley, we focus on Traditional Dominican Bachata, where the heart of the dance is the connection between partners and the rhythm of the music.
Why Musicality Matters
I often hear students say they are confused by the tempo or do not know what to do with their hands. Instead of robotic counting, I teach you to identify the different instruments, like the güira, the bongos, and the bass. Once you understand what you are listening to, you stop worrying about the right step and start feeling the right vibe.
Our Progression
Whether you are a complete novice or have a bit of experience, we have a path for you:
- Trial & Drop-in (₹499 to ₹899): Perfect if you want to test our teaching style before committing. We do 60 minutes of instruction and 15 minutes of guided practice.
- Beginner Foundation (₹2700 to ₹3000): This 6-week course takes you from zero to social floor ready. We cover the basics of weight transfer, rhythm, and frame.
- Intermediate Upgrade (₹3600 to ₹4000): For those ready for more, we dive into complex turn patterns and advanced styling over an 8-week period.
We host sessions across Bengaluru, including HSR Layout, Indiranagar, and Sanjaynagar. My goal is not to create clones, but to help you find your own unique groove. If you are ready to get sweaty, have some fun, and actually learn to dance rather than just mimic moves, I would love to see you in the studio.
