About Latin Dance Classes
I believe dance is where you drop the glam, get messy, and just be real. For me, it's all about connection, fun, and letting the music take over—not about memorizing fancy routines. If you want to really feel the dance and not just perform it, you've found your people.
What We Dance
- Salsa (On1): We break down partnerwork, solo shines, and even mix in Afro and Rumba for your own vibe.
- Bachata (Dominican style): No complicated tricks here; it’s all about the groove, strong partner connection, and really hearing the music.
- Other Latin Rhythms: Sometimes we throw in Cuban Rumba, Son Cubano, Mambo, or Cha-Cha, so you get the full flavor.
How I Teach
- Musicality comes first—I might use sounds like "unka chaka unka" instead of counts so you actually feel the beat.
- We drill the basics: body movement, weight transfer, frame.
- Connection over perfection. Leaders, stop staring at your feet! You're here to connect, not just step.
- You’ll find your own groove. I don’t want clones, just authentic dancers.
Who Can Join?
If you’re a total beginner (haan haan, bilkul zero se), you’ll fit right in. Been dancing a while? There’s always a new technique or musical layer to unlock. Solo or with a friend, everyone’s welcome.
If you want to move, connect, and really dance, just come as you are.

My Story
Hey, we’re Motley Dance Company. Dance isn’t just steps for us, it’s how we connect, laugh, and sometimes even mess up together. Kalpana here, co-director, and yes, I get nervous posting dance videos too! But we believe growth happens when you step out of comfort. We love sharing real, imperfect moments—sometimes it’s salsa, sometimes it’s just vibing with the music. Our classes? All about joy, learning, and real connection.
