About Conscious Luxury: Our Sustainable Fabrics

People often ask if sustainable fabrics feel different. The orange peel fabric we use is the best example—it drapes with the luster of silk, is anti-wrinkle, and because of the natural citrus oils, it feels soft and nourishing on your skin. It is not just about being eco-friendly; it is about upgrading the comfort and quality of what you wear every day.

When we talk about conscious luxury, we are not just looking for buzzwords. We are obsessed with materials that perform better. Traditional silk production can be harsh, which is why we moved toward alternatives like Ahimsa silk and orange peel fibers.

The orange peel fabric is a game-changer. It is recycled from citrus waste, which keeps tonnes of garbage out of landfills, but the real magic is the texture. It is naturally breathable and has an incredible sheen that rivals high-end silk, without the stiff, synthetic feel. Plus, it is infused with vitamins A, C, and E, making it gentle on sensitive skin.

We are equally dedicated to hemp. It is one of the strongest, most sustainable crops on the planet, requiring minimal water and no pesticides. In our Parel studio, we have found that hemp tailors beautifully for structured pieces like bandis and kurtas. It holds its shape, does not bunch up, and gets softer the more you wear it.

Why we choose these materials:

  • Breathability: Natural fibers allow your skin to breathe, which is essential for Mumbai’s climate.
  • Skin Health: No synthetic irritants or harsh chemicals touching your body.
  • Durability: These fabrics are built to last, not to be discarded after one wedding season.

Whether you are looking for a sherwani for your big day or a set for a family gathering, you can have a luxury look that respects the environment. We invite you to visit our Mumbai studio to touch these fabrics yourself—you will feel the difference immediately.
