About A Study in Fabric & Detail
A jacket is only as good as the canvas beneath the cloth. We use Irish linens and Italian wools not just for their appearance, but for how they hold a silhouette across seasons. Whether you are choosing a 120s count wool for a structured blazer or a breathable linen for a Nehru jacket, the weight and weave must match your daily movement and the climate.
In bespoke tailoring, the fabric is your foundation. We source Irish and Belgian linens, alongside 120s count Italian wools, because they respond differently to the drape of a suit or the structure of a Bandhgala.
Construction details dictate the longevity of your piece. We use full or half-canvas fusing in our jackets. This is not visible on the surface, but it dictates how the garment ages. A cheap fusible will bubble after a few dry cleans; a canvas construction allows the fabric to breathe and mold to your body over time.
Our detailing includes custom lining choices, antique brass or enamel buttons, and high-armhole cuts for mobility. If you are commissioning a sherwani, we adjust the fusion weight specifically to support the hand-embroidery—whether it is Zardosi or French knots—without pulling the base fabric.
When you visit our studio in Khar West, we do not just show you swatches. We demonstrate how the grain of the cloth affects the cut. Whether it is a hand-painted narrative on raw silk or a structured blazer, the garment’s life depends on these technical choices made long before the needle touches the thread.
