Embroidery & Artistry
- Hand Embroidery: Extensive Zardosi, Aari, or French Knots requiring 80 to 120+ hours of craftsmanship per piece.
- Personalization: Storytelling embroidery incorporating custom sketches and motifs relevant to the couple (e.g., birds, infinity signs, wedding logos).
- Detailing: Concealed plackets, hand-finished hems, and intricate collar work.
Process & Construction
- Structure: Canvased chest piece for a clean, chest-enhancing look rather than an unstructured fit.
- Lining: Breathable Viscose or Bemberg lining for comfort.
- Fittings: 2 to 3 trials to ensure the Sherwani sits perfectly on the shoulders without bunching.

- 2-Piece Suit: Completely bespoke Jacket and Trouser constructed from scratch.
- Fabric: Selection from premium mills like Vitale Barberis Canonico (VBC) or Reda (Super 110s to Super 130s Merino Wool).
- Construction: Full Canvas Construction using hand-stitched internal structures (Pad Stitched) for superior lapel roll and body molding.
The Process
- Drafting: Unique paper pattern drawn specifically for the client without templates.
- Fittings: Minimum of 3 fittings including Baste (skeleton fit), Forward (fabric attached), and Final Trial.
- Handwork: Approx 60 to 80 hours of manual craftsmanship.

- Bandi (Waistcoat): Structured, sleeveless jacket with a mandarin collar.
- Kurta: Custom-fitted kurta (short or long) tailored for movement.
- Bottoms: Choice of Aligarhi pants, straight trousers, or Chudidar.
Material & Design
- Fabric Innovation: Conscious fabrics such as Hemp, Lotus Stem fabric, Orange Peel fabric, or pure Linen.
- Embroidery: Strategic hand embroidery on pockets, collar, or back motifs requiring 40 to 70 hours of work.
- Buttons: Natural Corozo or metal buttons.
Fit & Finish
- Tailoring: Bespoke cut to ensure the Bandi lies flat without gaping at the chest or armholes.

- Bandi and kurta sets that we love personalizing with unique fabrics, even hemp or lotus silk
- Full family coordination - we've done matching looks for entire baraats, right down to symbols woven in for that emotional connection
Details & Fabrics
I obsess over the small things - hand-tacked lapels, kulti (that’s our pad stitching), proper canvas inside. These bits nobody sees, but you feel the difference.
- Only use conscious fabrics: Ahimsa silk (no worms harmed), lotus stem, hemp, orange peel fabric. Feels premium, sits light, doesn’t cost the planet.
- Everything is finished with a proper touch. We make sure you look sharp but feel comfortable.

The Bespoke Journey
- Real talk, it’s not ‘walk in, walk out’. We do a full consult, 30+ measurements, fittings till it’s perfect. If you can’t come to us, our traveling tailor comes to you.

Threadsmith started with me and Ritika, just two folks in London, dreaming of more than clothes – we wanted connection. Think of those Sofar gigs, magic in small rooms. We brought that vibe home. 'Main duniya ghoomunga, naye logon se milunga' – why not build that here? Our studio’s not just about suits, it’s music, chats, and community. Representing India in Malaysia was wild. For us, every stitch is your story. We’re just here to help you tell it.
