A garment made just for you is a process, not a transaction. Join us at our Parel studio for a journey that starts with a conversation and ends with a perfect fit.

The bespoke process starts with a conversation. We take the time to understand who you are, your lifestyle, and what you want your garment to say about you, building a deep relationship to create an authentic result.

A happy group during a consultation. We love involving family in the process to ensure the final garment is something everyone is excited about.

We take over 30 precise measurements and observe your posture, the way you sit, and the way you walk. This allows us to record nuances like shoulder slope and arm length to craft an impeccably fitting garment.

A cloth fitting is more accurate than a measuring tape alone. During the first "baste" fitting, we check the fall and drape of the loosely stitched garment on your body to ensure a perfect balance.

The baste fitting is a crucial, time-consuming part of garment construction. It's filled with chalk marks and pinning as our masters assess how the fabric drapes on the client's body to achieve perfect balance.

About The Bespoke Journey: From Consultation to Final Fit

We don’t just measure you and disappear. During our first 'baste fitting,' we have you try on the garment loosely stitched before final construction. This is where we catch details the tape measure misses, like how your shoulders naturally slope or how the fabric drapes when you sit. It is the only way to ensure the suit feels like a second skin rather than just a standard fit.

True bespoke tailoring is about more than measurements. It is about understanding your posture, your lifestyle, and the story you want to tell through your clothes.

The Consultation

Every project begins with a conversation. When you visit our Parel studio, we aren't just looking at fabric swatches. We want to understand where you will wear this garment, how you move, and what kind of structure you prefer. Whether it is an Ahimsa silk sherwani or a full-canvas VBC wool suit, the design starts with your personality.

30+ Point Measurement

We move beyond standard sizing. We take over 30 precise measurements, but that is only half the work. We observe your posture, the arch of your back, and even the difference in your arm lengths. This data allows us to draft a unique paper pattern from scratch for you, ensuring the garment balances perfectly on your frame.

The Baste Fitting

This is the most critical stage. We construct a 'baste' suit—a skeleton version of your outfit—to see how the fabric behaves on your body. You will see chalk marks, pins, and visible large stitches. It looks incomplete, but it is the most accurate way to refine the drape, the collar sit, and the lapel roll. It is a time-intensive process, but it ensures that when you put on the final piece, it feels as natural as it looks sharp.

Sustainable Craftsmanship

Throughout this journey, we stay committed to conscious luxury. We use Bemberg lining, natural horsehair canvas, and sustainable fabrics like lotus stem or hemp. You get a garment that is structurally sound and environmentally thoughtful. If you cannot visit us in Parel, our traveling tailor service brings this entire process directly to your location in Mumbai.

I started Threadsmith to bring connection back into tailoring, where the craft is as much about the conversation as it is about the cloth. My team and I believe that a garment should tell your story, so come by, let's grab a coffee, and let's start building your fit.
