About Deep Flexibility: Stretches & Twists
Flexibility is a practice of patience, not force. In our sessions, we use active stretches and consistent breathwork to gradually open tight hips and hamstrings, ensuring your body feels supported rather than strained. I focus on helping you understand your body’s unique limits, using props to make challenging postures accessible.
Whether you are dealing with physical tightness or simply want to improve your range of motion, my approach is built on steady progress. We do not rush into deep postures. Instead, we break down the mechanics, ensuring you move safely and effectively.
My Approach to Flexibility
- Active Stretching: We focus on engaging muscles to move into stretches safely, rather than relying on gravity or passive force.
- Prop Usage: Blocks, chairs, and straps are essential tools. If your hamstrings are tight, we use these to bring the floor to you, allowing you to breathe into the stretch rather than fight it.
- Hatha & Vinyasa Blend: I incorporate static Hatha holds for stability and Vinyasa flow for mobility. This combination helps build strength while increasing range.
- Injury Awareness: As someone who has navigated personal injuries, I prioritize joint safety and alignment above everything else. Your recovery and comfort are the primary goals.
What to Expect
Each session is an opportunity to tune into your body. We focus on:
- Hip Openers: Releasing deep-seated tension often caused by long periods of sitting.
- Spine Mobility: Creating space and lengthening the back to improve posture.
- Real-Time Feedback: In group sessions, I monitor your alignment closely, offering verbal corrections to keep you safe.
Remember, the bamboo that bends is stronger than the oak that resists. Yoga is about finding that strength in your flexibility journey. Let's work on creating that freedom together.
