Furniture Transformations
I turn your old, forgotten furniture into functional art pieces. Whether it’s a chest of drawers or a dining table, I use vibrant colours and my signature hand-painted designs to give your pieces a fresh start.
A lot of love, patience, and paint goes into every furniture piece. This is a peek at the process of transforming my chest of drawers, showing the detailed line work and layering that brings the design to life.
We painted this beautiful sunflower panel for Meera's new dining table last year. It’s designed to be a centerpiece, adding a touch of sunshine and art to her family meals.
About Furniture Transformations
Before we get started, please know that I focus purely on the aesthetic transformation, not structural repair. I handle the deep cleaning, sanding, and the final hand-painted art, but I can’t do carpentry or upholstery work. If your furniture is sturdy and just needs a new look, we can definitely make it happen.
Furniture transformation is a process I treat with a lot of patience. It’s not just about slapping on a coat of paint. Every piece that arrives at my Whitefield studio goes through a rigorous restoration process. We start with deep sanding to remove old varnish and level the surface, then apply primer to ensure the art lasts.
I use high-grade, fade-resistant acrylics and finish everything with multiple layers of furniture-grade topcoat. This means your new statement piece is scratch-resistant, water-resistant, and ready for daily use. Because I do this by hand—from sketching the initial design to the final protective varnish—it typically takes 3 to 4 weeks to complete a large unit like a chest of drawers or console.
Since this happens at my studio, you’ll need to arrange for a porter to drop your piece off. I handle the artistic heavy lifting, but please ensure your furniture is structurally sound before bringing it in, as I don’t provide carpentry or upholstery services.
The Yellow Brush
I’m Tanvi, and I’m usually covered in paint while figuring out how to turn a boring old chest of drawers into a statement piece. My business is a family-run labor of love, and I personally handle the painting and finish for every single furniture project that comes into the studio.
