Practical Weapon Defense and Safety Training
Facing a weapon threat is terrifying, but proper technique can make a critical difference. My workshops focus on real-world defense against knives and sticks, keeping it practical, safe, and effective for everyday life.
This clip shows a demonstration of Bojutsu, or staff fighting techniques, during an outdoor training session. Understanding how to use and defend against long-range objects is a key part of advanced martial arts training.
This is a step-by-step breakdown of a knife defense technique during a workshop. I teach students how to block, control the attacker's arm, and disarm them, emphasizing safety and precision in every movement.
About Weapon Defense Basics
I do not teach fancy movie moves that fail on the street. In this workshop, we use rubber knives and focus pads to simulate actual, adrenaline-filled encounters. You will learn to control the weapon, create distance, and get away safely. It is not about winning a fight; it is about surviving one.
Real Skills for Real Threats
When someone pulls a weapon, your first thought should not be to fight back like an action hero. It should be to survive. That is why my training focuses on de-escalation and distance management first.
We work on what I call 'pressure testing'—controlled sparring where we increase the intensity so you learn to think clearly even when you are scared. You will learn to handle threats like wrist grabs, knife attacks, and even how to use everyday items like pens, bags, or umbrellas as improvised weapons.
What You Will Learn
- Distance Management: Learning to stay out of the 'danger zone' where a weapon can reach you.
- Weapon Control: Simple, effective blocks and redirects to disarm or disable an attacker.
- Safe Escapes: Techniques to break free from grabs or holds so you can run to safety.
- Adrenaline Control: Training your mind to stay calm under pressure.
Logistics and Training
I conduct these sessions personally in Mumbai, specifically across Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, and Powai. Whether you are an individual joining a weekend crash course or part of a corporate team, the goal remains the same: you walk out knowing you have the tools to protect yourself. We keep the environment safe, supportive, and open to all skill levels. No prior martial arts experience is required; just bring your willingness to learn.
