The joy on a student's face after successfully pulling up the walls of their first cylinder. This moment of accomplishment is a huge milestone in learning to throw on the wheel.

This is me in my element, teaching a wheel throwing class. It is hard to capture these moments when I am so immersed in guiding my students, so I am grateful when they share photos like this.

Here I am, lost in the process of trimming a piece on the wheel. This stage is all about refining the shape and giving the pot its final, clean form before it dries.

About Wheel Throwing Classes

Wheel throwing is as much about centering your mind as it is about centering the clay. We use professional Nidec-Shimpo wheels in our studio because they provide the consistent speed and stability you need to master pulling walls, even when you are just starting out and the clay feels a bit uncooperative.
