About this collection
One of the most practical things about this collection is the versatility. Many of our girls’ kurtas are designed to double as breezy dresses, and our boys’ kurtas feature adjustable roll-up sleeves and soft wooden buttons. We want you to get more wear out of every piece, well after the festival ends.
We believe kids' festive wear shouldn't be a 'wear once' affair. Whether you are dressing your little one for Diwali, a family wedding, or a festive day at school, the priority remains the same: pure, skin-friendly fabric. We use 100% breathable cotton, mulmul lining, and azo-free natural dyes to ensure no irritation, regardless of how long the celebration lasts.
Our collection spans traditional silhouettes like the Abhirami set—a two-piece angrakha style top and pant—to our signature handwoven Ikat shirts and printed kurtas for boys. We focus on practical details often overlooked: deep pockets for treasures, soft elastic waists that do not dig into sensitive skin, and durable stitching that survives endless running around.
For girls, our kurtas are designed with a relaxed, A-line fit. If you like, pair them with the matching pants for a traditional look, or wear them solo as a dress for a more casual, breezy vibe. We avoid scratchy sequins or heavy embroidery, opting instead for tactile charm like cloth tassels, fabric bows, and contrast piping.
Sizing covers ages 0 to 12 years, and the fits are designed to be true-to-size and non-restrictive. Since each piece is handcrafted in our workshop, we can often accommodate specific requests for festive season twinning or custom adjustments. If you have a theme or a specific color palette in mind for a family event, let me know.
The Little Stitch
I’m Rashmi, and The Little Stitch started because I wanted better for my own child. I make these ethnic pieces by hand, using soft cotton and natural dyes, because I believe celebrations should be about joy, not uncomfortable fabrics.
