Mixed Media & Textural Art

I blend clay, acrylics, and mixed media to create tactile art you can actually touch. It is a grounding, three-dimensional experience for any wall in your home.

A process video of my mixed media piece, 'Molded Impressions'. This reel shows the journey from molding the wet clay and applying it to the canvas, to painting the details and the final artwork hanging on the wall. Creating something you can feel is a grounding experience.

A close up video showing the rich texture of 'Molded Impressions'. I used clay to build up the floral elements, creating a 3D effect that invites you to touch and feel the artwork. This piece was a creative reset for me.

Another detailed look at the textures and layers in 'Molded Impressions'. This piece combines acrylics, spray paint, and molded clay on a 14 by 11 inch canvas to create a vibrant, tactile garden scene.

Working on a large, round canvas with a monochrome floral pattern. This piece explores the silent language of creativity through the infinite, intertwined patterns of nature, created with bold white on a dark background.

About this collection

When I work with clay and mixed media, I am not just painting—I am sculpting a tactile landscape on the canvas. These pieces are sealed with professional varnish to protect the 3D texture from dust while keeping the finish crisp. It is art designed to be felt, not just looked at.

Creating 3D textural art is my creative reset button. While flat canvases have their place, mixing modeling paste, clay, and acrylics allows me to build a garden or an abstract landscape that rises off the surface. It shifts the entire mood of a room in a way that standard paint cannot.

The Process Behind the Texture

I do not just brush on paint; I build layers. I start by molding the clay directly onto the canvas to map out the floral or abstract forms. Once that sets, I use acrylics and occasionally spray paint to bring in color and depth. Because the clay reacts differently every time, no two pieces are ever identical.

Caring for Your Piece

People often ask if these textured pieces are high maintenance. Because I finish every work with a professional-grade varnish—usually gloss or matte depending on the piece—the surfaces are protected against dust. A light dusting with a dry, soft brush is all it needs to stay fresh for years.

Whether it is a 14x11 inch statement piece or a larger custom commission, these works are meant to be tactile memories. It is that intersection of sculpture and painting that keeps my work feeling alive.

I am Aanchal, and I left my corporate job four years ago to paint full-time. My art is a mix of logic and chaos—I love testing how clay, spray paint, and acrylics interact on a canvas.
