I love creating art that steps off the canvas. These 3D pieces use texture, clay, and mixed media to add depth and movement to your walls.

This is "THE DANCING SQUAD," a set of nine panels that create an abstract ballet of texture and color. The gold pieces are the lead performers, breaking the silver rhythm with energetic bursts, telling a story of harmony and contrast.

A closer look at "THE DANCING SQUAD." The raised, fluid forms suggest bodies in motion, their metallic skins reflecting the energy of the performance. It celebrates the beauty of collaboration.

A detail of one of the all-silver dancers. Their surfaces swirl in graceful, unified steps, blending into a seamless choreography of light and shadow.

Here is a close-up of a gold-tinted performer. These pieces are daring and luminous, adding individual flair to the collective flow of the artwork.

As part of my process, I always create samples for approval before beginning the main artwork. These miniature faces were the approved samples for the final 20-piece wall installation.

This was one of my first textured artworks. It's amazing to look back and see how my journey with 3D and sculptural pieces began.

About Sculptural & 3D Wall Art

When I take on a 3D wall art project, I don't just jump straight onto the main canvas. I start by creating small, physical A4-sized texture swatches to match your room’s natural lighting and furniture palette. This lets us test how materials—like clay, modeling paste, or metallic acrylics—catch the light in your specific space before I commit to the larger installation.

My 3D and sculptural wall art is about creating a dialogue between the light in your room and the surface of the art. Whether it is a set of clay relief panels or a mixed media installation, I use heavy textures to make the piece feel alive.

The Process Behind the Texture

Unlike flat paintings, 3D art changes throughout the day. As the sun moves, the shadows on the raised surfaces shift, making the artwork look different in the morning than it does at night.

I work primarily with high-viscosity modeling pastes, clay reliefs, and sometimes bronze or metallic accents to build these forms.

Why Start with Samples?

Because 3D art is so tactile, seeing a photo isn't always enough to understand how it will sit on your wall. That is why I include a physical sampling phase for all major custom orders. We will look at:

  • Shadow Depth: How high the relief should be based on your viewing distance.
  • Material Interaction: How the light hits the metallic or matte finish in your specific room.
  • Installation: I provide D-ring mounting and guidance on the best way to light the piece so the texture pops.

Care and Longevity

Since these pieces often feature layered textures, I seal everything with UV-resistant, artist-grade varnishes. This prevents dust from settling into the grooves and protects the piece from humidity, which is especially important for homes here in Mumbai. If you are looking to add a sculptural element to a hallway, a statement wall, or a double-height ceiling, let’s talk about how we can build something that feels right for your space.

I’m Rupali, and I’m happiest when art isn’t just hanging flat on a wall. I build textures, mix mediums, and play with clay to make pieces that add physical depth and life to your room.
