Featured Home Interiors: Transitional Style & Traditional Charm
A collection of homes where modern living meets traditional soul. These are the spaces we have poured our hearts into, blending contemporary needs with the warmth of Indian craftsmanship.
This living room is where modern comfort meets timeless Indian artistry. I anchored the space with a large, hand-carved wooden panel and a delicate jali screen, creating a backdrop that feels both grand and personal. The neutral sofas and contemporary lighting ensure the room remains bright and welcoming, a perfect space for family stories to unfold.
In this bedroom, I explored the power of a monochrome palette to create a space that is both youthful and sophisticated. The design is built on layers of texture, from the lime-washed wall behind the bed to the abstract art and soft linens. Every detail, including the modern wall sconce and custom headboard, was chosen to make the compact room feel intentional and full of character.
I believe a dining room should be the heart of the home, a place that naturally draws people together. Here, the warm, earthy tones on the walls and the elegant marble tabletop create an inviting atmosphere for shared meals and conversations. The space is completed with a simple white crockery unit and touches of red and brass, making it feel cherished and lived-in.
First impressions matter, and the foyer of our 'Kaalam' project sets a tone of rooted tradition. A reclaimed wooden sthamba (pillar) stands as a proud centerpiece, complemented by the rustic texture of an exposed brick wall and a vintage-inspired mirror. This entry is a deliberate nod to the past, reinterpreted for a modern home.
This kitchen proves that functional spaces can also be the most beautiful. I paired rich olive green cabinetry with warm wood tones and fluted glass to create a modern-traditional feel. The gentle archway and carved wooden brackets are details that add a layer of handcrafted charm, making the everyday act of cooking feel special.
For this open-plan home, creating a sense of connection was key. I designed a breakfast bar that acts as a gentle partition between the living and dining areas, perfect for casual meals or conversations. The space is filled with natural light and thoughtful details like a custom wine rack and contemporary chairs, making it ideal for hosting friends and family.
Welcome to 'Kaalam,' a home designed as a journey through time. This is a space filled with meaning, where treasured heirlooms and new memories live together. Every detail, from the hand-carved elements to the play of light and shadow, was chosen to create a home that feels both rooted in the past and ready for the future.
It was an honor to see my 'Olavu' project featured in Elle Decor. This recognition reinforces my belief that great design is about creating spaces with emotion and a strong sense of place. This home, with its blend of modern forms and traditional soul, is a perfect example of that philosophy.
About Featured
Every home in this collection is a conversation between the past and the present. We do not just select furniture; we balance modern functionality with architectural details—like reclaimed wooden pillars or hand-carved jali screens—that bring a deep sense of rootedness to a contemporary city apartment.
Our design process begins with a story. Whether it is a project like 'Kaalam' or 'Olavu', we treat every home as a journey through time. We believe that a space should reflect who you are, which is why we focus on transitional interiors—a blend of modern efficiency and traditional Indian warmth.
When we plan a layout, we consider how you actually live. We use materials like Teak veneers, PU finishes, and brass accents to create a rich, layered aesthetic that feels comfortable rather than staged. Our approach to design is end-to-end; we handle everything from the initial spatial planning and custom storage solutions to the final styling.
Practicality is just as important as aesthetics. We integrate smart storage solutions, such as hidden wardrobes and clever kitchen layouts, ensuring your home remains organized without sacrificing character. By combining these functional needs with personal touches—like an indoor swing, textured walls, or vintage-inspired mirrors—we ensure your home feels familiar, rare, and truly yours.
