The Core Principles of Classical Hatha Yoga
Yoga is not about touching your toes or bending into complex shapes. It is about aligning your system. Here is the foundation of my practice.
Sadhguru explains the difference between prayer and meditation. Meditation isn't about asking for things, it's about listening. It's about understanding our limitations and simply becoming quiet enough to let life happen through us.
A beautiful reminder from Sadhguru about the power of presence. The core of our practice is to learn to just sit, to just be. This is where we can drop our personality for a few moments and experience life as the overwhelming presence it is.
The simple act of Namaskar, as Sadhguru says, is a way to harmonize with everything around you. It's a recognition of the divine in the other. This is the foundation of the respect and attention I bring to every class.
About The 'Why': Core Principles
Many people come to me thinking yoga is about flexibility or holding complex poses. Honestly, the practice isn't about how far you can bend, but about creating a stable foundation within yourself so you can handle the chaos of a workday without burning out. If you can sit still, you can start this practice. It is not about changing your life overnight, but about making small, consistent shifts in your inner technology to keep you steady.
When I was sitting at my Wipro desk, I often thought yoga was reserved for monks or people who had nothing else to do. I was wrong. My sessions are rooted in the classical Hatha Yoga traditions shared by Sadhguru and the Isha Foundation. This is not about complex philosophy. It is about simple, practical tools that allow you to manage your energy and focus.
Why the 'Inner Technology' Approach?
If you treat your phone or your computer with care and updates, why not treat your own system the same way? The practices I teach—like Angamardana or basic breathing techniques—are designed to clear out the mental noise. You do not need to quit your job or retreat to the mountains. You just need to show up.
The Bangalore Corporate Context
I work with teams across Bangalore, from tech parks in Whitefield to offices in Indiranagar. I know the deadlines and the eye rolls that come with 'wellness' initiatives. That is why we strip away the fluff. We focus on:
- Joint Health: Simple movements to prevent RSI from endless typing.
- Digital Wellness: Eye exercises that actually work after eight hours of screen time.
- Stress Management: Nadi Shuddhi and other breathwork to regain balance before your next meeting.
Everything I teach, I have practiced myself. From the struggle of staying consistent to the relief of finally finding a rhythm, I have been there. My goal is to make these practices as natural for you as drinking water. If you can dedicate a few minutes a day, the results will show up in your energy levels and your ability to stay calm when things get hectic.
