Bedroom interior designs that feel like a sanctuary
A bedroom should be the one place where the day truly ends. I help you build that calm by focusing on the right lighting, natural textures, and those custom nooks you never knew you needed.
This bedroom is all about making a statement. The custom black and white tropical mural behind the bed acts as a stunning focal point. I designed an integrated desk and headboard in soft pink and light wood to create a space that is both inspiring and comfortable.
I'm a big fan of dark, cozy bedrooms. In this design, a dark veneer panel behind the bed creates a moody, cocoon-like feel. The floating bedside tables and corner window ledge add a sleek, modern touch, making it the perfect dreamy retreat.
A contemporary bedroom where a deep blue upholstered headboard provides a rich pop of color. The sculptural ceiling light adds an artistic touch, while the curved chaise lounge offers a comfortable spot to relax. It's a balance of bold statements and soft comforts.
This bedroom is a study in texture. The combination of a wood-paneled wall, a textured stone-finish wall, a soft grey bed, and marble flooring creates a rich, layered look. The blue sofa adds a beautiful accent color.
This video shows the quick transformation of a plain room into a cozy and stylish bedroom. We added a false ceiling for better lighting, a custom bed and side tables, and converted an extension into a functional study nook.
A view of the transformed bedroom, showing the new bed with a deep blue headboard and the cozy study nook in the background. The warm wood tones of the furniture and partition create a cohesive and inviting space.
You don't always need bold colors to make an impact. This bedroom uses a neutral palette of beige, cream, olive green, and wood to create a calm and soothing atmosphere. The pendant light adds a touch of modern elegance.
About this collection
I always tell clients to start with the light. Don't just rely on a single bright ceiling light for your bedroom. I layer three distinct sources—like soft cove lighting for mood, warm bedside sconces for reading, and a feature pendant for depth—to completely change how a room feels the moment you walk in after a long day. It is a simple shift that makes the biggest difference in creating that cozy, switch-off vibe.
Designing Your Personal Escape
Most people think a bedroom is just about the bed and a wardrobe. I think it is about how you live in the hours before you sleep and the minutes after you wake up.
My approach is to strip away the clutter. We focus on:
- Texture over Color: If you are scared of bold shades, you are not alone. I often work with natural textures—wood paneling, stone finishes, and linen fabrics—to create warmth without needing loud colors.
- The Functional Nook: Need a space to read, work, or just stare at the wall? We often convert underutilized corners into custom study nooks or reading alcoves.
- Smart Storage: Floor-to-ceiling wardrobes don't have to look like monoliths. We detail them with materials that blend into the wall or add subtle glass accents so the room feels open, not cramped.
How We Work Together
Design is a journey, and it is rarely a straight line. When we start a bedroom project, we don't just dump a pre-made design on you. We look at your habits. Do you read in bed? Do you need a place to drop your phone and keys? Does your partner want a different reading light than you?
We sort out the electrical points, the false ceiling for that ambient cove lighting, and the carpentry details so everything feels built-in and intentional. Whether you want a moody, dark-veneer cocoon or a bright, tropical-inspired retreat, let's talk about what actually helps you sleep better.
Tangram
I am Shraddha, and at Tangram, we don't believe in picking design styles out of a magazine. Whether you want a moody, dark retreat or a bright, tropical-inspired haven, we work with you to find exactly what makes you feel at home. It is all about creating a space that works for you, not just looks good in a photo.
