Welcoming Home Entrances & Custom Design Details
Your home starts at the door. From the way your entrance sets the tone to the subtle, smart storage that keeps your life running, we focus on the details that make a house truly yours.
The entrance is the first impression of your home. In Indian culture, it's a sacred threshold. This design creates a tranquil welcome with an indoor water body, stepping stones, and a swing, setting a peaceful tone for the entire house.
I love using materials in unexpected ways. Here, a large 8x4 foot tile that looks like abstract art becomes the feature wall for a cozy foyer corner. It’s a bold move that paid off, creating a stunning and unique first impression.
Staircases are often overlooked but are one of the most used parts of a home. This minimalist staircase is a design detail in itself, with its clean lines and the contrast between the light stone steps and dark risers.
This walk-in closet is a dream of organization. The glass-fronted wardrobes keep things visible but dust-free, while the central vanity and plush ottoman add a touch of luxury. It's a beautiful and functional private space.
A clever use of mirrors can make a space feel larger and brighter. This full-length pivoting mirror in a walk-in closet is not only practical but also adds a dynamic and stylish element to the room.
This image shows a passage leading into a bedroom, featuring beautiful wood paneling and custom wardrobes. Whether you call it a dressing room or a walk-in wardrobe, it's all about creating smart, seamless storage solutions.
A close-up showing the interplay of textures. The fluted wood paneling, the marble-like wall finish, and the woven vases create a rich, tactile experience. The wall sconces add a warm, ambient glow.
About this collection
A home entrance is more than just a door. It is the threshold that sets the tone for everything inside. We often use raw materials like natural stone or exposed wood to create a visual break from the world outside. Whether it is adding an indoor water feature for tranquility or designing a custom foyer unit that hides clutter while making a statement, we focus on elements that feel personal, not like something pulled from a standard design catalogue.
Why the Small Details Matter
People spend a lot of time stressing over living room sofas or kitchen layouts, but I firmly believe the magic happens in the transitional spaces. A hallway that feels cramped or an entrance that lacks character can completely change how you feel when you step into your home.
Our Approach to Custom Carpentry
We don't believe in off-the-shelf storage. When we design a walk-in closet or a foyer cabinet, we look at exactly what you need to store. Is it shoes, bags, or a collection of books? We build the joinery around your habits. Using materials like marine-grade plywood and premium veneers, we ensure these pieces don't just look good today but hold up for years.
Bringing the Outside In
For entrances, we love playing with textures. Think of a bold, large-format tile on a feature wall, or mixing warm lighting with clean, modern concrete. We often incorporate natural elements to ground the space. It isn't just about making things look pretty. It is about creating a functional flow that works for your daily routine, whether you are coming home after a long commute or heading out for the day.
Solving Your Design Challenges
- Lighting: We avoid flat, single-source lighting. We layer it with COB spots, warm cove lights, and decorative fixtures to create depth.
- Storage: We focus on floor-to-ceiling solutions to maximize your carpet area without making the room feel boxed in.
- Materiality: We lean into raw textures like brick, stone, and wood because they age gracefully and add warmth that flat paint simply cannot match.
If you have a corner of your home that feels wasted, or an entryway that needs a total rethink, let’s talk about how we can transform it.
Tangram
I’m Shraddha, and at Tangram, we’re all about the chaotic, rewarding process of making a house feel like your sanctuary. I don’t believe in set styles or rigid trends. I’d rather listen to how you actually live and build something that fits, from the moment you step through the front door to the wardrobe in your bedroom.
