Why I Teach Kids & Family Yoga
Kids don’t sit still, and honestly, I don’t expect them to. I use stories, games, and laughter to help children find their own calm. My sessions are all about playful movement, imagination, and letting kids be themselves. Yoga isn’t just for grown-ups - it’s a way for little ones to build strength, focus, and happiness that sticks with them.
What Happens in My Classes
- For ages 7-12, I run regular classes packed with yoga games for children, animal poses, and breathing exercises like Bubble Breaths.
- We use stories and music to teach mindfulness, and every session ends with gentle relaxation. Kids leave feeling balanced and a bit more chill.
- Parent-child yoga bonding is a big part of what I do. These partner sessions are a chance for you and your child to connect, move, and laugh together. We do partner poses, listen to each other, and just enjoy being present.
- Camps and workshops pop up through the year, mixing yoga with art, music, and games. These are great for making friends and having fun outside the usual routine.

My Story
Hey, I’m Aarthi, founder of Padma Yoga Academy. Used to be all about the corporate grind, HR, meetings - but life had other plans. After a tough divorce, single parenting, and a few stumbles in the wellness world, I found my anchor in yoga and healing. Not just yoga, though - after an injury, I added strength training, sound healing, mandala art. Healing for me is messy, honest, sometimes awkward, always real. That’s what I bring to every class.
