About Bharatanatyam Training
My Approach to Bharatanatyam
Dance feels like a real conversation between body and soul for me. When you step into my classes, it’s not just about memorizing steps. We laugh, mess up, try again, and learn together. I stick to the Guru-Shishya Parampara, so respect and tradition are always in the mix, but I want each person to find their own spark.
Who Can Join
- First-timers, kids or grown-ups, I’ve got you. My beginner classes cover Bharatanatyam basics for beginners - starting from Adavus (footwork rhythms), simple hand gestures, and the stories behind the moves.
- If you already dance, advanced batches focus on polishing technique. Sometimes, dancers can audition for my company and join big performances.
- For those dreaming of an Arangetram (your solo stage debut), I guide you through intense one-on-one sessions and the whole prep, including choreography and Nattuvangam.
Classes & Locations
- Main studio in Malleswaram, Bangalore.
- Regular sessions in Namma Chennai.
- Online Bharatanatyam lessons are open to anyone, anywhere - just need a bit of space to move.
Workshops pop up now and then, so if you want to brush up on Adavu technique or try new choreography, let’s connect. You’ll find a mix of discipline and fun here, but honestly, there’s no shortcut - it takes effort and patience.

My Story
Hey, we’re Vivartana. Dance is our heartbeat - Bharatanatyam is how we breathe. We’re split between Chennai and Bangalore, and our studio is like a second home. We’re shaped by our Gurus, and nothing beats seeing our students shine, like that first arrangetram in 2023 with our all-women orchestra. Vivartana is where we mess up, laugh, learn, and celebrate every dancer’s journey. Kids, seniors, newbies - all welcome.
My Work
Bharatanatyam Classes & Workshops - We teach Bharatanatyam online and offline for kids and adults. It’s more than steps, it’s culture.
Choreography & Performances - We create group choreography for festivals, perform at events, and love experimenting with new ideas.
Dance Makeup Services - We offer Bharatanatyam makeup tips and services for dancers. It’s all about storytelling, eyes, and lasting power.
Studio Space for Artists - Our dance rehearsal space in Chennai and Bangalore is open for other artists to practice and create.
