Custom Pencil Sketches and Hand-Drawn Portraits
There is a timeless, quiet beauty in graphite on paper. I focus on capturing real emotion through light and shadow, creating detailed, realistic portraits that turn your memories into art.
A throwback to a pencil sketch I did of Dulquer Salmaan from the movie Sita Ramam. It all starts with a letter, and this video shows the final reveal of the portrait.
After a long break, I practiced a realistic eye sketch. It’s always good to go back to the basics and focus on the details.
A random practice session sketching a woman's profile. I love capturing the way hair flows and the subtle expression on a person's face.
This video shows how I come out of an art block, by just starting a simple sketch. This free-flowing hair sketch was a midnight session that helped me get back into my creative groove.
A close-up of my first attempt at drawing a realistic eye with color pencils. I loved blending the colors to create depth and emotion.
The full drawing of the realistic eye, done with color pencils on a sketchbook page.

About this collection
When you commission a sketch, I work primarily with professional Staedtler Mars Lumograph graphite on premium, acid-free cartridge paper. I don't just trace a photograph. We start by reviewing your references to pick the best angle and lighting. I share progress shots midway through so we can refine the details together, and every finished piece is sealed with a professional matte fixative to prevent smudging or yellowing over time.
Why a Pencil Sketch?
In a world of digital filters, a hand-drawn pencil portrait has a physical weight to it. It catches the light differently and feels more intimate. Whether it is a portrait of a loved one, a baby, or even a beloved pet, graphite allows me to focus purely on the expression in the eyes and the subtle textures of hair and skin.
The Commission Process
I keep the process simple because I want you to be part of the journey.
- Reference Selection: Send me your high-resolution photos. We will discuss which angle captures the personality best.
- The Sketching: I use heavy-weight, fine-grain paper (available in A4 or A3 sizes) that stands the test of time.
- Updates: I keep you in the loop with mid-process photos. This way, if you want a slight change or an adjustment to the shading, we can catch it early.
- Delivery: Once the sketch is complete and fixed, I package it securely in reinforced flat-packs or rigid tubes to ensure it reaches you in Bengaluru, Shivamogga, or anywhere across India without a crease.
Perfect for Gifting
These sketches are a classic choice for anniversaries, birthdays, or memorials. I have even done composite work, bringing people together from separate photographs into one cohesive frame. If you have an idea that feels a bit different—like a specific background or a unique combination of subjects—let's talk and figure out how to make it happen.
