About Family & Couple Portraits
When I work on a family or couple portrait, I focus on the connection. If you have separate photos of family members, I can bring them together into one cohesive composition. It is about making sure the lighting and expressions feel natural, as if you were all standing in the same frame.
Whether you want the timeless feel of a graphite sketch or the rich color of an acrylic painting, I tailor the medium to the mood. For pencil sketches, I use Staedtler Mars Lumograph pencils on acid-free cartridge paper for a clean, classic look. For acrylics, I layer heavy-body paint on gallery-wrapped cotton canvas to get the depth and texture just right.
I love working on memorial pieces too. If you have an old, faded photo and want to recreate it with someone else, I reconstruct the scene and adjust the tones to ensure a smooth, realistic finish. This helps bring loved ones together, even those who might not be in the same room. I always share a work-in-progress image mid-way so we can adjust details if needed before I add the final varnish or fixative spray.
