About Lifelike Pencil & Charcoal Portraits
I create every portrait on 180 GSM acid-free paper, treating it with a professional fixative spray to prevent smudging. Before framing, I always send you a high-resolution photo of the finished sketch for your approval, so you can see exactly how the details and expressions have turned out before it reaches your home.
My goal is to translate the emotion from your photograph onto the paper. Whether it is a solo portrait or a multi-generational family sketch, I treat each piece as a story. I use high-quality graphite and charcoal, building layers to capture light and shadow in a way that feels lifelike.
Technical Details
I use 180 GSM acid-free cartridge paper because it holds detail well without yellowing over time. Every sketch is sprayed with a professional fixative to ensure the charcoal does not smudge during transit. When it comes to the final product, I provide a synthetic wood frame with a glass front, making it ready for you to hang or gift immediately.
How to Get Started
To get the best results, please share your clearest, high-resolution photos. Good lighting makes a huge difference in the final sketch. If you have a specific pose in mind or want to include multiple people from different photos, let me know. I create a digital composition mockup for complex family portraits so we are both on the same page before I put pencil to paper. If you have any questions about the medium or the framing, just reach out.
