Our 10-piece ensemble blends traditional instruments like the tabla and harmonium with drums and guitars to balance that raw, spiritual Sufi sound with the high-octane energy of Bollywood. Whether you want a quiet, intimate evening of ghazals or a packed dance floor, we adjust our lineup and setlist to fit the specific mood you are looking to create.
At Sufi Folks, we don't just play—we host a 'mehfil'. My name is Alish Mohan, and my journey from Indian Idol to forming this collective has taught me that the best events are the ones where the music creates a genuine connection.
Our performance style is split into two distinct moods. We usually open with soulful Sufi melodies and live shayari, which settles the room and draws the audience in. Once the energy builds, we transition into high-energy Bollywood dance tracks. This dual-phase approach works exceptionally well for wedding sangeets, where you need a mix of emotional engagement and party vibes.
Logistically, we bring a full 10-piece ensemble, covering vocals, keys, drums, guitar, flute, and traditional Indian percussion. We perform for 90 to 120 minutes of continuous music. We do require a solid technical setup from your end, specifically a professional PA system, but we handle the rest, including our own coordinated ethnic attire to ensure we look the part. Whether you are hosting a corporate event in Delhi or a wedding in another part of the country, we are ready to travel and bring the music to you.
