About Professional Cold Process Workshops
In these workshops, I don't just hand you a pre-made recipe; I teach you to formulate your own using professional soap calculators. You will learn to handle lye safely, master trace consistency, and calculate your own oil percentages—so you leave with the technical skills to experiment on your own, rather than just copying a single design.
Why Master Cold Process Soap?
Soap making is chemistry, and understanding the 'why' is what separates a hobbyist from a soap maker. In my Cold Process (CP) workshops, we move past the basics. You will learn the saponification process, how to balance your oils for hardness and lather, and how to work with skin-safe fragrances and additives. Whether you want to make soap for your family or launch your own small brand, these sessions give you the foundational knowledge to do it right.
The Workshop Experience
- Science-First Approach: We start with the math. You'll learn to calculate your own recipes using professional soap calculators, so you are never dependent on someone else's formula.
- Hands-On Technique: You will measure, mix, and pour your own 1kg batch of soap. We cover batter consistency, temperature control, and the swirl techniques (like the ghost swirl) that give artisan soaps their visual appeal.
- Real-World Troubleshooting: I share what actually happens in the kitchen—including the mistakes and 'disasters' I went through when I started. Knowing how to fix a soap that's too soft or troubleshoot a fragrance that accelerates trace is just as important as the recipe itself.
What You Take Home
- Your own 1kg batch of soap (approximately 8-10 bars) to cure at home.
- A comprehensive recipe booklet and access to my soap making E-book.
- The confidence to formulate your own soaps safely after the class.
I conduct these sessions in small batches to ensure everyone gets hands-on time and individual attention. My goal is for you to walk away not just with a bar of soap, but with the technical understanding to create whatever you can imagine.
