About Creative & Designer Soap Making
I started with a steel bowl and a lot of guesses in my kitchen nine years ago, so I know exactly where you are starting. In these designer workshops, I do not just show you how to pour a mold. We focus on the actual chemistry of soap frosting and the physics of embedding so your creations actually look like professional desserts and not just blobs. You will walk away with a full batch of soap and the confidence to replicate the results on your own.
Designing with Cold Process Soap
Designing soaps that mimic real-life objects is a specific skill set. It requires moving beyond standard loaf pours and mastering soap dough, piping consistency, and timing.
In my Shanti Nagar studio, I walk you through the process of creating 'cake' soaps and floral patterns from scratch. We focus on the heavy lifting first: understanding soap chemistry and saponification. You cannot create stable frosting or intricate shapes if your base batter is not at the right trace. I share the exact recipes I use to get that fluffy, stable frosting consistency that holds its shape even when working with lye.
What You Learn
- Soap Frosting: Master the piping bag. I teach you how to achieve the perfect texture for soap frosting that looks edible but works as a cleanser.
- Soap Dough: Learn to make and sculpt soap dough for realistic cake toppings, flowers, and fruit embeds.
- Technique & Safety: We discuss lye safety and how to handle fragrance oils in complex designs without seizing your batter.
- Design Planning: How to visualize a design and execute it, layer by layer.
Whether you are joining for a one-off session in Bangalore or looking to add designer skills to your existing soap business, these workshops provide the technical foundation you need. You do not need to be an artist to make these, but you do need to understand the variables like temperature and humidity that affect your finish. I am there to guide you through every step, from the first mix to the final cut.
