About Crystal Clear Creations: Transparent Soaps
Most people assume transparent soap is just a melt-and-pour base from a factory, but I make mine from scratch in my studio. This allows me to control the oil composition for skin feel while ensuring the clarity needed to embed delicate designs like mermaid tails or flower petals without them looking blurry or muddy.
Transparent soap is where science meets pure visual play. Because I formulate the base myself, I have total control over the ingredients, ensuring the final bar is not only crystal clear but also nourishing, unlike the harsh detergents often found in commercial clear soaps.
The Science of Clarity
Creating this base is a delicate process of temperature control and ingredient selection. If the temperatures are off, the soap turns opaque or develops 'sweat' (glycerin dew). I use specific ratios of oils and additives to achieve that 'glass-like' transparency. This clarity is what makes the embeds pop. Whether it is a unicorn horn suspended in blue glycerin or rose petals caught in red, the soap acts as a magnifying lens for the art inside.
