Industrial Chic Corporate Interior Designs
I design workspaces that blend raw industrial aesthetics with modern acoustic comfort. Explore how exposed materials and thoughtful lighting can transform a professional environment.
The spacious boardroom at Anthea Pharma, designed for 20 people, features a vaulted concrete ceiling for acoustics and walls clad in brick from Kerala. The design blends Indian craftsmanship with locally sourced materials for an elegant and warm atmosphere.

About Industrial Chic Corporate Environments
A recurring challenge in corporate design is balancing the raw appeal of industrial materials with necessary sound management. In projects like Anthea Pharma, I addressed this by using brick cladding from Kerala and teakwood spindles not just for their visual warmth, but as functional sound barriers. This layering, combining exposed concrete ceilings with acoustic panels, is a technique I use to ensure that the open-plan industrial look remains practical and quiet enough for focused work.
My approach to industrial chic corporate environments is rooted in the idea that a workspace should support both productivity and well-being. Unlike generic office fit-outs, these projects utilize honest materials to create a narrative of craftsmanship within a professional setting.
Materiality and Acoustics
In my office design projects, the aesthetic is driven by the site's structural potential. I prioritize the use of authentic, tactile materials. Exposed brick, concrete finishes, and natural wood are central to this style, but they must be applied with technical precision to avoid echo and noise issues common in large corporate floor plans. By using elements like traditional chattayi ceiling treatments or vertical wooden flutes, I can optimize acoustics without relying on standard, uninspiring false ceilings.
Designing for Workflow
Every office has unique requirements for collaboration and focus. At Anthea Pharma, for instance, the layout balances private cabins with open-plan workstations, using glass partitions to maintain visual connectivity without sacrificing privacy. Lighting is another critical layer; rather than uniform overhead panels, I prefer architectural track lights or suspended LED fixtures that highlight textures and create distinct zones within the office.
Contextual Design
Whether I am working on a new site in Hyderabad or a commercial space in Bengaluru, the goal remains the same: a workspace that feels grounded. This involves integrating greenery, such as courtyard planters or desktop Bonsai installations, to provide a refreshing relief during intense workdays. The result is a professional environment that does not feel like a factory, but rather a space that respects the employees who inhabit it.
