About this collection
The 'Spanish Country Home' project demonstrates how architectural elements like arches and brass railings define a space. By integrating cane-shutter cabinetry and stained-glass lighting, we avoid generic finishes, creating an interior that feels personal rather than mass-produced.
When designing eclectic interiors in Bengaluru, the goal is to create a cohesive narrative from disparate influences. The 'Spanish Country Home' project illustrates this approach, utilizing a muted Mediterranean palette punctuated by bold, traditional Indian accents.
Structural modifications are often the first step in such transformations. For instance, the transition between the living and dining zones was achieved through ceiling treatments using walnut-hued rafters that simultaneously conceal electrical conduits and introduce a vintage, rustic allure. This architectural rigor is essential when blending styles. Without it, the space risks feeling cluttered.
Materiality and craft are paramount. Cane shutters in cabinetry offer breathability and lightness, while brass accents—whether in stair railings or decorative hardware—add a subtle, reflective grandeur. We also incorporate stained-glass fixtures to introduce color without overwhelming the neutral backdrop.
For your home, consider these elements:
- Statement lighting acts as a central focal point.
- Custom-made furniture, such as a live-edge sandalwood center table, creates a centerpiece that modular options cannot replicate.
- Analyzing existing light and circulation patterns helps determine where to introduce these Spanish-inspired motifs, ensuring the home remains functional while possessing a distinct character.
