I believe a bathroom should be more than a utility space. It is a private sanctuary where materials, light, and texture converge to offer you a moment of stillness.

A poem in every corner. This bathroom, adjoining the media room in our 'Aria' project, continues the story with a hand-painted mural. The door, detailed with natural cane, opens into a dark, cave-like shower space, creating a dramatic transition and an unforgettable experience.

The powder toilet in the 'Aria' house is all about drama. A "Kings and Queens" artwork wraps around the upper walls, while the lower half is clad in beautiful Indian Granite. The deep, muddy background and indirect light create a rich, theatrical atmosphere.

To complement the master bedroom, this bathroom is clad in black Marquina and custom-made white alabaster marble. The dark, luxurious stone creates a sophisticated backdrop for the brass fixtures and warm globe lights, resulting in a master bathroom that feels both modern and timeless.

In this master bathroom, the walls themselves become a Van Gogh-inspired artwork. Colorful china mosaic is hand-laid in swirling patterns, transforming the shower into a canvas. The earthy tones and a custom Jaisalmer stone basin complete this artistic and functional space.

Another view of the 'Aria' master bathroom, where custom-carved wooden mirrors in organic shapes are mounted on the wall. They reflect the colorful mosaic of the shower, creating a dialogue between the different textures and art forms within this unique, earthy space.

This powder toilet makes a dramatic statement with a monolith basin carved from red marble, set against dark charcoal IPS walls. The contrast between the veined red stone and the deep black walls, accented by a single nest-like wall light, creates a powerful and moody interior.

A wider view of the dramatic powder toilet, showing how the in-situ red and white marble floor pattern connects with the monolith red marble basin. The entire room is a composition of bold materials and dark tones, designed to be an immersive and memorable space for guests.

This girl's bathroom is a playful mix of color and texture. The walls are enveloped in blue and mint green mosaic tiles, paired with a terrazzo countertop. Quirky terrazzo wall lamps and a handmade arched mirror add to the fun, youthful character of the space.

Soft sunlight fills this bathroom in a Goa holiday home. We used vanilla and Jaisalmer stone tiles to create a warm, natural feel. A central monolith divider made of cream IPS separates the shower and WC areas, adding a simple, sculptural element to the functional space.

This son's bathroom in a Goa villa is a classic combination of black and white tiles. A beautiful walnut vanity counter and a quirky cane mirror add warmth and a touch of tropical charm, creating a space that is both timeless and playful.

About Bathrooms & Powder Rooms: Private Retreats

When I design a bathroom, I treat the walls as a canvas for texture. Whether it is a hand-painted mural, the cool touch of Indian Patent Stone (IPS) against warm Jaisalmer marble, or a monolith basin carved on-site, I focus on the tactile experience. These small rooms hold the potential for the most dramatic stories in your home, provided we balance the plumbing constraints with a narrative of comfort.

Designing Your Private Retreat

A powder room is often the only space in a home where you can truly experiment with drama. Because these rooms are transitional, I encourage clients to take risks here—bold murals, rich dark charcoal IPS walls, or sculptural vanity units that serve as focal points. In master bathrooms, the approach shifts toward calm and longevity. I prioritize natural materials like Italian marble, Indian granite, and Jaisalmer stone, which age gracefully and bring an earthy, grounded quality to your daily routine.

The Anatomy of a Custom Bathroom

Every bathroom project I undertake focuses on three core elements:

  • Material Integrity: I prefer using natural, raw materials like IPS and stone over synthetic laminates. These materials are not just durable but also provide a sensory experience underfoot and to the touch.
  • Bespoke Joinery: Your vanity, mirror frames, and cabinets are rarely off-the-shelf. I design them to fit the specific geometry of your space, often incorporating hand-crafted details like solid wood handles or custom-shaped mirrors to break the monotony of standard rectangular layouts.
  • Lighting as Narrative: Lighting in a bathroom is rarely just for visibility. I use indirect, warm light to soften harsh architectural lines, creating a space that feels inviting rather than clinical.

Practicality Meets Poetry

Functionality is the hidden hero of good design. Beneath the artistic murals and the beautiful stone basins, my team and I pay rigorous attention to plumbing, waterproofing, and layout optimization. If you have a small apartment, I look for ways to hide storage within walls or integrate the shower and vanity areas to ensure the space feels larger and more breathable. Whether you want a high-energy powder room for guests or a spa-like master bath for yourself, I work with you to find that intersection of aesthetic desire and daily utility.

I believe that the smallest rooms should tell the biggest stories. I approach each bathroom design as a private sanctuary, carefully layering custom stone, hand-crafted details, and thoughtful lighting to turn your daily routine into a ritual.
