Custom Bathroom & Powder Room Designs
A bathroom should be more than utility—it is where your day begins and ends. I design these spaces to be personal sanctuaries, blending sculptural materials with thoughtful, layered lighting for a truly restful experience.
Powder rooms are an opportunity to be bold. Here, I used a dramatic, book-matched marble for the countertop and backsplash, creating a powerful artistic statement. The rich brown walls and minimalist basin complete the luxurious feel.
Even a small powder room can leave a big impression. This space balances style and personality, with a patterned wallpaper, a custom-printed basin, and classic black-and-white marble flooring.
I designed this bathroom to feel like a sanctuary. I used a dichromatic approach with materials and patterns, like the chevron marble floor and dark grey stone walls, to create a look that is subtle yet palatial. The freestanding tub invites slow, relaxing moments.
This master bathroom vanity is designed for both luxury and function. The warm wood cabinetry, white onyx countertop, and ample storage are complemented by elegant wall sconces and a large, simple mirror that makes the space feel expansive.
This powder room features a clean, minimalist aesthetic. The floating vanity with reeded detailing, vessel sink, and soft wall sconces create a serene and sophisticated atmosphere. The all-neutral palette feels both modern and timeless.
I love playing with color and texture in a powder room. Here, a rich green marble vanity and green subway tiles are paired with a striped vase and a pleated wall sconce for a look that is fresh, modern, and full of character.
For the "Project Ivy" home, this bathroom vanity makes a statement with its bold olive green color. Paired with grey marble walls and a modern oval mirror, it feels both classic and contemporary.
This bathroom storage hack is one of my favorites. A recessed medicine cabinet is hidden behind the mirror, providing ample storage for toiletries while maintaining a clean, uncluttered look.
This powder room transitions seamlessly from a bright, energizing morning oasis to a calming, serene evening retreat. The lighting is designed to adapt to your mood, creating the perfect atmosphere any time of day.
For our Goa holiday retreat project, this bathroom is inspired by the region's rich culture. The bold black-and-white patterned tiles create a graphic statement, paired with a simple wood vanity and gold fixtures.
About Bathrooms & Powder Rooms: Private Retreats
I often recommend recessed medicine cabinets hidden behind vanity mirrors for a seamless, uncluttered look. This simple, custom solution keeps your everyday essentials within reach while maintaining the calm, minimal aesthetic that defines a spa-like retreat.
Defining Your Private Retreat
A bathroom is often the most personal room in a house. When I approach a bathroom or powder room project, my goal is to strip away the noise. I focus on creating a space that feels like a quiet escape from the daily grind. Whether it is a small guest powder room or a sprawling master bath, the principles remain the same: high-quality materials, intentional lighting, and clean lines.
Materiality and Texture
I prefer using natural materials that age gracefully. For bathrooms, this means selecting stone—like deep-veined marble or onyx—not just for the flooring, but to define the entire mood of the room. I often work with large format tiles or slab stone to reduce grout lines, giving the room a expansive, uninterrupted feel. In smaller powder rooms, I like to introduce contrast, perhaps using rich, dark wood cabinetry against a lighter, textured stone backsplash to add depth.
Practical Luxury
Luxury should not come at the cost of function. My designs include:
- Hidden Storage: Everything has a place. Beyond recessed cabinets, I design vanity units with pull-out drawers tailored to your exact storage needs.
- Layered Lighting: You need bright task lighting for grooming, but you also need soft, ambient light for winding down. I mix cove lighting, statement wall sconces, and overhead fixtures so you can change the mood with a flip of a switch.
- Custom Vanities: From fluted wood detailing to stone-clad surfaces, your vanity is the anchor of the room. I design these to fit the scale of your space perfectly.
Whether you are looking for a modern, monochromatic look or want to incorporate vibrant patterns, I help you translate your style into a functional, lasting environment.
