Art and Sculptural Elements in Interior Design
For us, a space is a canvas where art becomes the protagonist. We integrate murals, sculptural walls, and handcrafted installations to make your home tell a story that is uniquely yours.
The pièce de résistance of the 'Aria' house. Fluted wooden doors slide open to reveal this majestic totem light installation, encased in an elliptical wall. This sculptural light is the focus of the entire living room, a true testament to art as the centerpiece of design.
A close-up of the "Melting Candle" wall in our 'Aria' project. This terracotta-red sculptural element was hand-carved from plaster and clad in IPS, flowing sinuously onto the floor like melted wax. It obstructs the view just enough to create intrigue and wonder.
The "Melting Candle" wall serves as a sculptural backdrop for other art pieces. Here, it stands behind two beautiful paintings, creating a rich dialogue between different forms of art. It is a prime example of how we layer artistic elements to tell a deeper story.
In a transitional passageway, we commissioned this sculpture inspired by Buddhist prayer wheels. The meticulously executed piece is a modern take on the wheels, depicting the life of Shiva. It invites a moment of interaction and reflection as you move through the home.
A different angle of the Buddhist prayer wheel-inspired sculpture. Set within a clean, white niche, the intricate carving and warm wood of the wheels stand out, turning a simple passageway into a gallery-like experience.
Art is integrated into every corner. This bar table in our Powai House project is set against a bold, graphic black and white panel. The abstract design acts as a powerful backdrop, transforming a functional corner into an artistic statement.
A detail shot from the Powai House, showing the junction of the graphic art panel, a terrazzo bar top, and a white paneled wall. This composition highlights our focus on corners and the interplay of different materials, patterns, and textures.
About Art & Sculptural Elements
We treat walls and corners as canvases rather than flat surfaces. In our Aria project, for example, the 'Melting Candle' wall is not just a partition. It is a hand-carved sculptural element that intentionally obscures the view, creating a sense of mystery and transition as you move through the home.
Art should not be something you simply hang on a wall. We prefer to build it into the architecture itself. Whether it is a totem light installation encased in an elliptical wall or a modern interpretation of Buddhist prayer wheels, these pieces provide a focal point that defines the mood of a room.
We collaborate with local artisans to ensure every element—from graphic bar panels in Powai homes to plaster-clad sculptural walls—is made with intent. When we design a residential space, we look for opportunities to turn functional areas into artistic statements. A transitional passageway becomes a gallery, and a standard wall becomes a textural backdrop for paintings.
This approach to interior design goes beyond aesthetics. It is about layering materials like IPS, terrazzo, and wood to create depth. By prioritizing these hand-crafted details, we ensure your home does not look like a catalog. Instead, it reflects your personal narrative. If you are looking to move away from modular, predictable interiors and want a space that feels personal and calm, we can work together to find the right artistic narrative for your home.
