Hand-Building Pottery Workshops for Groups
Gather your friends, colleagues, or family for a screen-free creative escape. We trade perfection for playful, muddy afternoons where you learn the tactile art of hand-building clay from scratch. Whether it is a birthday, a book club meet, or just a Sunday catch-up, I guide you through crafting your own unique ceramic pieces in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Two friends met in an old familiar city to try something new. What started as "let's try pottery" turned into laughs, muddy hands, and this beautiful handmade garlic grater.

About Workshops for Friends & Groups
Since we focus on traditional hand-building without a pottery wheel, your creations stay with me after the session. I personally handle the trimming, drying, and two rounds of kiln firing to ensure your pieces are food-safe and durable. You can expect to pick up your finished ceramics from my Powai studio about three to four weeks later, once they have survived the kiln.
A Different Way to Create
There is a specific kind of magic that happens when you sit around a table, hands deep in clay, with people you actually enjoy being around. My workshops are designed for that. We do not use pottery wheels here. Instead, we focus on hand-building techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab rolling. This approach is much more approachable for beginners because it allows you to slow down and really feel the material, rather than fighting a spinning wheel.
What Your Group Session Includes
Whether you are booking for a birthday, a corporate team-building event, or just a casual weekend hangout with friends, the structure is designed to be low-pressure. You will have access to unlimited stoneware clay, tools, and apron setups. Everyone gets to craft their own functional items, such as mugs, trinket dishes, or bowls.
I offer two main ways to host your group:
- Studio Workshops in Powai: A dedicated, cozy space for smaller groups to get messy and creative. It is a perfect spot to unplug.
- Mobile Offsite Events: If you have a larger group or prefer to stay in your office or a specific venue across Mumbai, I bring the studio to you. We handle all logistics, from table protection to the safe transport of your wet clay creations back to my kiln.
Why the Wait?
Because we prioritize creating food-safe, long-lasting ceramics, your pieces cannot be taken home immediately. After your workshop, your creations need to dry thoroughly before their first fire. Then, I glaze them and fire them a second time. This process takes 3 to 4 weeks. I know it requires patience, but it ensures you walk away with a piece that is truly yours and built to last.
