About Clay Dates for Couples

Since we stick to hand-building—pinching, coiling, and slab rolling—rather than the wheel, you do not need to worry about steep learning curves or mechanics. It allows you to move at your own pace, focused on the conversation and the clay. You will create your own functional, food-safe pieces to keep, but please keep in mind that the kiln firing and glazing process takes about 3 to 4 weeks before your pottery is ready for pickup.

Why choose a clay date? It is an invitation to pause. In a city as fast-paced as Mumbai, my studio in Powai offers a quiet, tactile escape where the only thing that matters is the texture of the earth under your fingers.

We focus on the intentional, slow work of forming objects by hand. Whether you want to make a mug for your morning coffee or a trinket dish, you have the full, dedicated guidance of a private session to see your ideas through. It is not about perfect results; it is about the shared experience of making something real.

What to expect:

  • Guidance: I walk you through the basics of stonework, including pinching and slab rolling, so you are confident from the start.
  • Environment: We keep things intimate and private. It is just the two of you, the tools, and the process.
  • The Finish: Because we are dealing with real stoneware clay, every piece goes through a professional glazing and kiln-firing process after you leave. This ensures your final product is 100% food-safe and durable.

If you have a specific milestone like an anniversary or a proposal, let me know. I have hosted everything from quiet celebrations to surprise dates, and I am happy to help plan a session that fits the occasion.

I'm Garima. I believe the best dates happen when you step away from screens and get your hands into some mud. My studio is all about slowing down, so whether you’re celebrating an anniversary or just want a quiet afternoon, I’m here to help you turn a lump of clay into something you’ll actually use.
