Our Featured Architectural Projects
We’ve pulled together a collection of our work that shows how we blend architecture, raw materials, and a bit of personality to create spaces that actually feel like home.
We designed this double-height living room in a luxury Bangalore villa to feel both grand and inviting. The space is organized around a stunning central chandelier, with custom furniture and expansive windows that open up to the garden, creating a seamless connection with nature.
This is from our Kaattu Veedu Guesthouse project, where we embraced earthy and sustainable design. The shaded verandah features handmade Athangudi tiles and restored wooden columns from old homes in Karaikudi, connecting the space to both nature and history.
We love adding a cheeky surprise to our designs. In this family living room, what looks like a wall of curated movie and music posters is actually a hidden bar, perfect for entertaining.
This living room showcases our take on Neo Japandi style, blending minimalism with warmth. We used a soothing beige palette, clean lines, and curated abstract art to create a space that feels both modern and timeless.
For the Brigade Valencia marketing office, we moved away from the typical cold workspace. The design is built around a series of courtyards and walkways defined by contemporary arches, creating a bright, airy, and inspiring environment.
We had so much fun designing this playful and functional kids' room. The custom-designed bunk bed features green rattan panels and built-in storage, set against a whimsical pastel wallpaper with hot air balloons and clouds.
We love a design challenge. For this sophisticated cigar lounge, we engineered an illuminated bar from a colossal block of onyx, creating a glowing centerpiece that is both a functional bar and a work of art.
About this collection
We do not believe in cookie-cutter designs. Whether it is engineering a colossal block of stone into an illuminated onyx bar or transforming a standard living room wall into a hidden cocktail station, our focus is on building that one specific detail that makes a space yours. If you want a home that follows a standard trend, we might not be the right fit, but if you want your space to have that corner which stops people in their tracks, let’s talk.
Every project you see here represents our 'One in a Row' philosophy. We treat architecture as a series of deliberate, patient decisions rather than a race to finish.
Designing for Context
From the Brigade Valencia marketing office, where we ditched the typical cold workspace for courtyards and arches, to our Kaattu Veedu Guesthouse project which uses restored columns and local Athangudi tiles, we always let the site dictate the design. We don’t fight the location; we lean into it.
The 'XS' Touch
Our work often involves a mix of Neo Japandi serenity and raw, tactile elements. You will find us playing with light—our favorite free material—and mixing textures like cane, brass, and marble. We believe in high-spec execution, whether it is for a luxury villa in Devanahalli or a custom kids' room with magnetic shutters and solid wood bunk beds.
Our Process
We are a team of architects, interns, and makers who work, laugh, and occasionally break into a 'dapankuth' dance move. When we take on a project, we are in it for the long haul. We handle everything from the initial sketch and material mood boards to the 3D renders and on-site supervision. We prefer to build with a conscience and a lot of patience, ensuring that every joinery detail and light fixture is perfectly placed.
Studio XS
We are Shivani and Sucheth, the principal architects behind Studio XS. We believe in design as a tool, crafting one thoughtful space at a time with finesse and patience. When we are not geeking out over natural light or debating the perfect marble finish, we are busy with our wild team of 'enthu cutlets'.
