Explore selected highlights of our work where architecture meets memory. From modern renovations to custom new builds, see how we craft spaces that feel personal, lived-in, and uniquely yours.
For us, a home is a place for connection. This solid wood dining table, intentionally placed at the heart of a renovated house, serves as a testament to that belief. It’s a space designed not just for meals, but for conversations, laughter, and the creation of memories, surrounded by the client's personal collection of art and travel artifacts.
A home is a living gallery of memories. This video captures the dialogue between our client and us during the transformation of a 35-year-old inherited house. It reveals how we weave personal stories, history, and aspirations into a design that honors the past while making space for the future.
We believe architecture should be in conversation with its surroundings. This concept for an artist's residence, with its simple, monolithic form and large windows, is designed to be a quiet sanctuary that embraces the natural landscape, allowing creativity to flourish in a calm, light-filled environment.
We believe in the power of detail. This bathroom, with its bold marble inlay work, shows our commitment to craftsmanship and creating moments of unexpected beauty. It’s an example of how even the most functional spaces can be transformed into art through thoughtful material selection and execution.
Good design makes life better, no matter the size of the space. In this compact apartment, we integrated a flexible work desk and smart storage solutions to create a living area that is both functional and uncluttered. It demonstrates our approach to maximizing utility without compromising on a feeling of spaciousness and calm.
Renovation is about reimagining possibilities. By introducing a translucent sliding partition, we transformed a single large bedroom into three distinct zones: a sleeping nook, a study, and a wardrobe area. This solution provides privacy and function while maintaining a sense of openness and light.
We are honored to have our work recognized by leading voices in the design world. Being featured in publications like Elle Decor affirms our commitment to creating spaces that are not only beautiful and functional but also narratively rich and culturally relevant.
Every project begins with a conversation and a sketch. This hand-drawn section of an artist's studio illustrates how we first explore the relationship between space, light, and nature. It is the initial, intuitive step in a process that transforms an idea into a physical, inhabitable reality.
We are the Office of Cognitive Design. As the founding partners, we lead a collaborative studio that is style-agnostic and deeply focused on the human experience. We believe in designing spaces that grow with you, serving as a canvas for your memories and a reflection of your life's journey.
This is the core of our philosophy. We strive for a design that serves its purpose so seamlessly it becomes an invisible part of your life. It’s not about making a loud statement, but about creating a quiet sense of comfort, ease, and belonging that you feel without always knowing why.
About Featured
We do not believe in templates. Every project here begins as a hand-drawn sketch, a conversation that turns abstract needs into physical reality. Whether we are rethinking an old family home or designing a new apartment, our focus remains on creating spaces that feel natural and intuitive from the moment you step inside.
Our design philosophy is grounded in one simple truth: good design is often invisible. It is not about making a loud statement, but about creating a sense of comfort that you feel without knowing why. This gallery offers a glimpse into how we translate that idea across different scales and contexts.
You will see our work on heritage-inspired renovations, where we honor the history of older structures while updating them for modern life. You will also see compact apartments where we use smart layouts and flexible furniture to maximize utility without sacrificing calm.
Our process is consistent regardless of the project. We work with honest, tactile materials like wood, exposed brick, and terrazzo. We pay attention to how light falls across a room and how a space encourages conversation. We often reference traditional concepts like the thotti mane, or central courtyard house, translating that heritage into fresh, modern residential architecture.
Ultimately, we are building for the way you live. We invite you to look through these projects not just as finished rooms, but as a framework for your own stories. If you see something that resonates with the way you want to live, let us know.
