See What My Students Create at Studio Meeraya
From messy first tries to pieces they are proud to take home. Take a look at the beautiful ceramics my students have crafted right here in my Powai studio.
The pure joy of seeing your finished pieces after they've been glazed and fired is priceless. This student was so proud of her hand-built creations, from a small floral bowl to a striped container, and I was just as happy for her.
Hearing from happy students is the best part of my job. In this video, Shambhavi shares her experience and how she felt comfortable enough to bring her unique idea for a coffee filter to life. We welcome all your creative ideas.
The happiness of finishing what you started. Vedika completed her workshop and created a wonderful collection of pieces, including a cat-faced plate, a heart-shaped bowl, and a woven basket. I'm so proud of her progress.
About Our Student Showcase
You might see these finished pieces on Instagram, but the real story is in the process. When you walk into my studio, you are not just attending a class; you are learning to handle clay from scratch, whether it is your first time on the wheel or you are trying out hand-building. Every student here walked in with zero experience and left with a piece they actually made with their own two hands, and that is the real win.
More Than Just a Class
Pottery at Studio Meeraya is about the journey, not just the finished bowl or mug. When you join a workshop, we start by getting comfortable with the mud. It is messy, it is fun, and honestly, it is the best kind of therapy. My students come from all walks of life—corporate teams needing a break, couples looking for a date with a difference, and individuals just wanting to find their sukoon.
What You Will Learn
In every session, I make sure you get hands-on time. We cover the basics of centering on the wheel, pulling cylinders, or using hand-building techniques like pinching and coiling to make unique shapes. It is not about making perfect, factory-made items. It is about embracing the wobbly, imperfect, and honest pieces that show your personality.
The Lifecycle of Your Creation
Once your piece is formed, the work is not over. That is where I come in. I handle the trimming, the bisque firing, and the glazing myself. It is a labor of love that takes a few weeks, but seeing students come back to pick up their glazed mugs or bowls—shiny and food-safe—is my favorite part of the job. Whether you are in Powai or anywhere else in Mumbai, you can join my workshops, get your hands dirty, and leave with something that is truly yours.
