Contemporary Architectural Exteriors and Luxury Facade Design
We believe an exterior is more than a boundary. It is a dialogue between the home, the sunlight, and the surrounding trees. We design facades that weather gracefully and tell your story.
One studio, four distinct facades. This video highlights the unique architectural identity of four of our projects. While all are contemporary, each facade is a specific response to its site, climate, and the client's story, proving that our design language is versatile, not repetitive.
The facade of Plumeria House is a carefully composed palette of five materials: glass, stone, WPC, IPE wood, and textured paint. Each was chosen for its durability, texture, and ability to harmonize with the natural surroundings, creating an elevation that is both warm and timeless.
The south facade of Triveni Farmhouse was designed as a compact yet impactful first impression. We used the same contemporary language of projecting volumes and contrasting materials as the main facade, scaled proportionately to create a balanced and linear form.
At Triveni Farmhouse, the architecture is nestled among mature trees. The home's modern design, with its glass-wrapped corner and cantilevered balconies, creates a beautiful contrast with the organic forms of the surrounding nature.
A detail of the Triveni Farmhouse facade shows a framed opening in a stone-clad wall, offering a peek at the space behind. This technique of creating layered views and playing with solid and void is a signature of our contemporary design approach.
The linear volume of Triveni Farmhouse is broken up by projecting elements and a covered carport, creating a dynamic and functional facade. The mix of dark grey stone, white plaster, and warm wood adds texture and visual interest.
The curved driveway at Triveni Farmhouse softens the approach to the home's geometric facade. Vertical wooden louvers on the balcony add a touch of warmth and provide privacy while contributing to the building's modern aesthetic.
About this collection
A truly successful facade does not shout for attention; it breathes. We select our material palettes—think raw stone, warm IPE wood, and glass—specifically to weather gracefully and reflect the home's unique orientation. Before deciding on a finish, we analyze the local sun path and the specific tree canopy on your plot, ensuring your exterior feels like a permanent, intentional part of its environment rather than a detached structure.
Architecture is rarely about a single grand gesture. It is about the interplay of volumes, the rhythm of openings, and how light touches a surface. Whether we are working on a new residence or giving an older structure a new identity, our focus remains on the relationship between the built form and its context.
Our Approach to Facade Design
Materiality and Time We favor materials that age with character. We often combine the grounding weight of stone with the lightness of glass and the warmth of wood. We choose these not just for their immediate aesthetic impact, but for how they will look after years of exposure to the Delhi climate. We avoid high-maintenance trends that degrade quickly, preferring a palette that gains depth over time.
Climatic Response A facade must work for you. We study the sun path and wind direction of your specific site in the National Capital Region before sketching a single line. This dictates where we place vertical louvers for privacy, deep overhangs for shade, or large glass openings to pull the garden into the living room. Your exterior is designed to keep your home cool and bright, not just to look impressive from the street.
The 'Retold' Home Renovation is a significant part of our practice. Often, a home just needs a new way to communicate with its surroundings. We examine the existing structure and reimagine the exterior skin to bring in more light, improve flow, or simply align the look with your current lifestyle. It is about stripping away the non-essential to reveal the home's potential.
Proportion and Scale We believe in the beauty of layered volumes. By pushing some parts of the facade forward and pulling others back, we create shadows that change throughout the day. This complexity gives a building a sense of scale, making it feel welcoming rather than imposing. We design to ensure the home sits comfortably within its plot, respecting both the landscape and the neighboring buildings.
SSDA
We are SSDA, a studio based in Ghitorni that believes architecture should be as layered as the lives lived inside. We do not believe in cookie-cutter elevations; we design homes that are deeply connected to their site, their light, and their history.
