A home is defined by the elements you interact with daily. From custom-sculpted staircases to intricate wall panels, we elevate the functional parts of your villa into pieces of art.

The entrance door is the first physical connection to a home, so the handle matters. I custom-design handles for each project to reflect the architectural story, whether bold, minimal, or sculptural. It’s a small detail that makes a powerful first impression.

Four staircases, four different moods. This video showcases a variety of staircase designs from my projects, each one crafted to be a unique sculptural element that reflects the heart of the home it belongs to.

The staircase at Gulmohar Farmhouse is a study in light and texture. Sunlight streams through the large window, casting shadows across the stone steps and the adjacent wall, which features a rhythmic pattern of smooth and fluted panels.

A view of the Gulmohar Farmhouse staircase, where the warmth of the wooden handrail and open risers contrasts with the cool, polished marble flooring. The striped pattern on the landing adds another layer of geometric detail.

A closer look at the textured wall panels and large window that line the staircase at Gulmohar Farmhouse. The design plays with light, shadow, and pattern to create a dynamic and engaging journey between floors.

The ceiling is a canvas that can define a room. In this upcoming villa, I've designed a variety of ceiling details, from classical cornices and modern grooves to warm wood finishes, each one adding dimension and impact to the space.

A well-designed ceiling is the quiet hero of a space. This clip shows how different ceiling treatments, from simple stepped designs to more ornate mouldings, can anchor a room and guide the eye upward with intention.

About Sculptural Details & Material Craft

We believe the handle you touch at the entrance is just as significant as the overall floor plan. In our projects, we move away from standard catalog selections, opting instead for custom hardware and sculptural staircase geometries that respond to the home's specific light and volume, turning standard circulation paths into sensory experiences.

Architecture is often perceived through grand gestures, but the resonance of a space truly lives in its details. At SSDA, we treat elements like staircases, door hardware, and ceiling treatments not as afterthoughts, but as defining features of the interior architecture.

Our approach to material craft is driven by contrast and rhythm. For instance, in our work at the Gulmohar Farmhouse, we used a juxtaposition of smooth and fluted stone panels to create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, transforming a transition wall into a sculptural installation. Similarly, we view the staircase as a central artistic element. Whether it involves floating treads, metal fins, or rich stone inlay, every stair design is calculated to serve the specific volume of the house while acting as a visual anchor.

We extend this philosophy to the ceiling, which we treat as a canvas. By layering materials—incorporating warm wood finishes, modern grooves, or classical cornices—we manipulate the perception of height and intimacy within a room. This is the essence of our quiet luxury: the meticulous selection of materials like Italian marble, brass, and custom veneers, applied with a restraint that ensures the home feels grounded. Every piece of custom woodwork, from flush doors to entry handles, is designed to be tactile, inviting, and inherently connected to the larger narrative of your home.
