About Healthy Winter Warmers: Masala Gud & Halwa
When you taste my Moong Dal Halwa, you will notice it is perfectly 'danedar' (grainy) and never oily, thanks to my slow-roasting process in pure ghee. Because of this, it travels incredibly well in its jar, so you do not have to worry about leaks or sogginess if you are gifting it or carrying it with you on a trip.
I prepare my Masala Gud during the colder months when we all need a little immunity boost. I use organic jaggery and load it with high-quality dry fruits, melon seeds, and warming spices like dry ginger and black pepper. It is my take on a classic digestive that tastes like a treat.
My process for the Moong Dal Halwa is entirely traditional—slow-roasted until it hits that deep, rich colour and grainy texture. I do not take shortcuts with pre-mixes or oils. I use fresh khoya and kesar for the aroma, ensuring every bite feels like something made in a family kitchen, not a factory.
Whether you are looking for a healthy snack to keep on your desk or a comforting dessert to serve after a winter dinner, these jars are packed to stay fresh. I handle all orders personally, so if you have a preference for the spice level in the Masala Gud or want a specific jar size for the Halwa, just let me know.
Spoonalicious
Hi, I am Poonam. I run Spoonalicious right out of my home in Noida, and every batch of Masala Gud or Halwa comes from the same kitchen where I cook for my own family. I believe in keeping recipes simple and using only the best desi ghee, just the way my dadi taught me.
