About Group Tennis Coaching
What Tennis Means to Us
Tennis at Shivaji Park Gymkhana is more than just hitting balls. For us, it’s about building a community, a place where everyone feels at home. We’re here for the serious competitors, the weekend warriors, and the tiny tots who just want to run around and laugh.
Who Can Join?
- Kids as young as 3 or 5, just starting out. We keep it fun, not too strict - lots of giggles, less pressure.
- Intermediate players who want to up their game. We’ll help you with footwork, strategy, and consistency.
- Advanced players aiming for tournaments. Expect tough drills and mental training.
- Adults, whether you’re picking up a racquet for the first time or coming back after years. We run evening and weekend batches for you.
How We Coach
Technique is everything. We use dead ball drills to get your forehands, backhands, and serves right. Fitness is a big part too - every session starts with warm-ups and agility work. Even if Mumbai ki baarish (Mumbai’s rain) hits, we don’t stop, we just switch to fitness drills.
For those chasing tournaments, we offer extra sessions with a sports psychologist. We believe tennis is as much about the mind as the body.
Our Team & Courts
Our coaches, including me (Sanjay Patel), Anuja, Vijendra, and more, have decades of experience. Some of us still play tournaments, so we know what it takes. You’ll train at Shivaji Park Gymkhana, with three hard courts and floodlights for late sessions.
What to Expect
Group tennis lessons here are about learning together, pushing each other, and having fun. We’re strict about sports gear - non-marking shoes only, please. If you’re looking for beginner tennis classes or adult tennis coaching, you’ll find your spot here.

My Story
Main Sanjay Patel. 35 saal se (for 35 years) tennis court hi sab kuch hai. Shivaji Park Gymkhana... yahan sirf tennis nahi, parivar hai (here it's not just tennis, it's family). Mera kaam player banana, unko himmat dena. Jeet haar chhodo, pehla kadam zaroori hai (winning or losing doesn't matter, first step is important).
